Samantha Crawford is living a storybook life: she’s happily married, she lives on a ranch where she keeps her beloved horse, and the stories she’s told and illustrated since childhood have become published books. When her husband Billy is killed in a senseless act of violence, Sam loses her faith and her will to live. But a death-defying encounter with two children leads to a reunion with Joe, her oldest friend. As Sam watches “Papa” Joe care for and love the kids in his under-resourced neighborhood, she begins to realize that no matter life’s circumstances, the love of God is always reaching out to us.

Good , But It Is Overrated By Some

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

This is a Christian themed movie but you don't hear much about religion until the end when the main character overcomes her pain by hearing about the final moments of her husband and finds her faith again. So people who are not into religion will not be bothered by it. People who are into religion will definitely get a positive message. It also has a background story based on a true story. About Papa Joe who started a support for children in poor community who may not have a father and have him as a father figure. A nice message, awareness and a way to attract people to help the actual cause. It is well portrayed by Michael Ealy who gets the viewer engaged in the topic. The child actors who as I saw haven't done much other work also did a great job.The main story is mainly about fighting the pain. The ending twist is pretty good. A bit cheesy most of the time but it works well.

Samantha Crawford, a wrecked widow finds a new reason to live when she saves a child that got hit by a truck. She soon finds out that the child she saved is cared for by Sam's child hood friend Joe Bradford. In fact, he cares for many children in his neighborhood. This lets Sam find a purpose in her life; but clues about her husband's killer surface will she risk her new life for answers? This is basically the only good thing in the movie, the over arching story. It's a true story about redemption and faith. Its wholesome and clean, but children might be the only people not able to notice the terrible visual effects and overall cheesy presentation and acting. The movie does have some good actors. Many overshadow the others. The main stand outs are Michael Ealy as "Papa Joe" Bradford, Gabriella Phillips as Keisha, Kwesi Boakye as Macon and, Cedric Pendleton as Anthony. Like I said earlier the plot is basically the only thing that saves this movie. It has a good message that anyone can learn from. It has subtle Christian themes so if you're okay with that then it's a bearable Christian movie. Where do I start with the complaints? Maybe the terrible flashback, or the unrealistic depiction of the decisions the real people have made. Let go with the later. There are scenes in this movie that seem so unrealistic that its laughable. If you didn't know that this movie is nonfiction, then you would say this movie is very unbelievable. It comes down with the setup for those designs and the presentation of them. Another negative I have with this movie is the Cheesy/Cliché sense in this movie. If you imagine a cliché country romance scene, then you pictured a whole connection between two characters. The Cheesy music accompanied by the scenes don't help ether. Some of characters are mostly likable. Over time they become less annoying. They grow on you and they become more believable. The thing you have to remember is that I said some of them. All the others either don't contribute to the story at all or are there to waste time and confuse the audience. There are plot lines in this movie that half way into the movie they forget about and fill it in with something else. I get that they have to stay true with the real people's lives but don't build something up and then forget about it. Over all this movie was hard to watch. That basically describes this movie. I would not recommend this movie at all. It not really worth your time and there are better movies out there. If I were to score this movie out of 10 I would give it a 3.

If I'm being honest I only had to watch this movie for school and there are very few movies I have watched in school that I liked. This review is entirely because I need a grade. The only things I really liked were the settings and the acting. Many of the places the film show are accurate while being a beautiful backdrop at the same time, though this seems almost accidental considering the rest of the film. I really didn't like the movie at all for the sake of being a movie, truly poor musical taste in my opinion, the whole message of the movie was far too cheesy, real story or not. The acting was well delivered and the actors seemed to actually be the people they were playing, I have no complaints, they are one of the only good parts of the film. I mainly liked that they seemed to be real people instead of some guy reading lines. Whether or not someone can relate is truly a situational event, any old Joe can relate to a guy named Joe, any redhead can relate to the redheaded female protagonist. I liked two things in this movie, and frankly I didn't find it to be worth the five minutes I took writing this review.

A woman trying to find her way in life. Trying to find out who killed her husband. As the main character and protagonist Sam, saves the life of Keisha a young girl who is being raised by her grandma. While saving Keisha she sees the familiar face of Joe, her childhood friend. Sam had decided to save Keisha not out of selflessness but out of the love of how she could save someone but was unable to save the life of her husband who was killed in an act of unavailing violence. Sam soon discovers the characteristics of Anthony and she begins to draw conclusions he may or may not be the killer, because of this, it draws you in more to watching the movie. I did like how well the children played as the actors. Most movies tend to show very little emotion in children but in this movie they express a lot of emotions. For example, when Keisha wouldn't ever talk to anyone she was still showing the fear after her mother died. I didn't like how there wasn't anything in the beginning, showing any of Billy and Sam's relationship. Throughout the movie, it shows a lot of flashbacks to when Billy was alive; and when Billy and Sam we're married; and the happy times they had as a couple. I did like the characters in the movie. Sam shows a lot of moments, in the movie she is very suspenseful and leaves you all wondering what happens with a cliffhanger. This movie is a wonderful movie to see. This movie is very original and is based off of a true story, with many plot twists and it makes you question every character's personality twice.
