What a waste of my time!!!
Fantastic!
I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
View MoreThe film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
View MoreI just can't figure out how some people can embrace this film. First of all, I wasn't demanding an epic love story (really, I wasn't expecting that from this film). When I added this to my watchlist, I already knew that would be a simple movie at all.But it isn't even that. I couldn't see actual personality in Emma - she is like a stone during the entire film: no sympathy, no love, no actual happiness; everything wrapped in only smiles and cynics looks. Tom Sturridge, on the other hand, does a great job grabbing the role, making Will a charming character and the one who makes the movie happen, move forward. This becomes more clear as the film goes on.Will's personality and the soundtrack, which is stunning and worth-listening, saved this film. If you ain't gonna watch this movie, at least give a listen on its soundtrack.I have nothing to say about the rest.
View More*May contain spoilers.* The atrocious & preposterous non-acting in WAITING FOR FOREVER elevates TOMMY BOY into epic greatness in comparison.Simply watch any few seconds of the long in-car road part at the start of this movie. Notice how the actors never have even a slit-second of awareness of the changing landscape outside of their car. Worse, their vision is not focused to even the distance of any car window. Total concentration is unrealistically deep within their highway zipping car -- all of the time.At first I thought this was a weird movie about blind people inside a moving car, as every actor is unnaturally looking into empty space about 8 inches over their foreheads or 8 inches below their chins. But eventually at some point the actors do look at each other. Whatever, their 100% lack of awareness at the changing landscapes, road signs, and other cars along the highway was completely unnatural. In comparison, the actors in TOMMY BOY spend a lot of time inside moving cars and they appeared to be much more normal looking at least sometimes into the distance. How profoundly bad are the actors in WAITING FOR FOREVER? Imagine any random normal people talking inside a car, but unable to look outside because the car glass has all been replaced by flat mirrors, so all they can see is each other's reflections. Even with this vision block, normal people would look into the mirror much of the time as they talked. Normal people, even with their distant vision blocked, would not look at empty space 8 inches below their chins or above their foreheads.Next, replace the mirrors blocking all vision with normal windshield glass. Then, you will see average humans inside a moving car MOSTLY looking outside the car at all of the new visual stimulus beyond the car windows. Yes, they can speak with each other, but normal people in a moving car will mostly look outside of the car.WAITING FOR FOREVER is unnatural and completely -- totally -- unrealistic. It is unintentionally a very funny movie.
View MoreI'm really fond of watching indie chick flicks, aside from the fact that it's indie, most of them comes with an awesome soundtrack. Yeah thanks so this movie, Mostar Diving Club is now one of my fave Indie bands. Now going back to the film, i love it because the movie just captures what TRUE/DEEP LOVE means. I'm a sappy person that's why i truly understand why i'm drawn to this film. As a kid, Willie knew he loves Emma, they parted somehow, now they're adults and Willie in his own obsessive/stalkerish way, he pursued her. He was sure she was 'It' for him. For me that's what this movie is really trying to convey to us. If you love someone you just don't give up on her/him. You find ways how to get that person. Although Willie is practically Emma's stalker, he never really meant to hurt her, he's simply Waiting for his Forever. So yeah i give this movie an 8. Idk what the 2 points missing, i will figure that out eventually :))
View MoreWaiting For Forever is a cute, quirky movie with a lot of heart. It does a great job at making you feel happy, with its high contrast lighting and fun soundtrack. The cast does a great job at pulling you in, especially Tom Sturridge. He does a wonderful job portraying the carefree traveling street performer, but also brings on the strong emotion when it's needed. The use of flashbacks and the way Tom's character describes his young love really have you rooting for their love to blossom once again. The story gets a little confusing and slow towards the middle but the strong beginning and ending definitely make up for it.
