Pretty Good
Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
View MoreWhile it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
View MoreIt really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
View MoreIt's Just Okay Nothing More Nothing Less, I Read The Reviews And Well "The HOWLING Pt 1 (1981) Starring Dee Wallace And Her Ex Husband Christopher Stone Is The Best Werewolf Movie Ever Made And From The Looks Of It Will Be The BEST EVER Made With "WOLF" (1994) Starring Michelle Pfeiffer And Jack Nicholson Coming In 2nd!
View MoreI'm an avid fan of good horror films. Unfortunately, there are only a few decent horror movies coming out each year. The rest are just demented jumpscare and gore festivals, or pointless teeny romancey bits.Wer puts the werewolf back to where it should be - a dark, fearsome and primal entity. The story plays very low-key for a long time, and that is a commendable choice by the writers/directors. I really love the way the suspense builds, and that we are not shown some cheesy puppy transformation scene in the beginning of the film. What can I say? It's definitely not perfect, not the best horror movie ever. But it's definitely among such classics as Dog Soldiers, Ginger Snaps, American Werewolf in London, and The Company of Wolves. I've watched the movie twice now, which is extremely rare in my case, and probably will watch it again sometime in the future.
View MoreTo start of with: this is NOT a found footage film. Some footage is found of the brutal slaying of a family on vacation in France, and it's analyzed and sets of the rest of the proceedings. The film is presented in a documentary style, nothing to do with found footage..And this doesn't make any difference since it's quite a brilliant film. Or maybe it does since some of those found footage films tend to take pretty illogical steps just to keep the FF gimmick alive. This is just a great, extremely original and thankfully very realistic take on the werewolf saga, slowly built up as a mystery murder thriller."Experienced" experts are brought in to examine this apparent brutal animal attack, however who could be prepared for what's to follow. Okay, the ending might have been slightly predictable but it is done with such vigor and ferociousness it's still highly enjoyable and very exciting to watch.Very well done, very well played by all, absolutely stunning make up- and gore effects, an excellent choice to let it play out in a different country and oh so original. It reminded me of that other very original genre film of late: "Afflicted". Iff you enjoyed that, you will absolutely love this! 8/10
View MoreThis could very well be a perfect film. Werewolf? Not a Werewolf? This movie kept me completely involved. What started out as an "unexplained attack" turned into a police style drama, complete with enough evidence to make you think that maybe this isn't a "Werewolf" movie, and when it's over, maybe it isn't... or, is it?This was so well written, and filmed, and acted, that I immediately want to watch it again. Brian Scott O'Conner, was fantastic as Talan Gwynick, the main antagonist. This is his only credit, and I SO want to see him do something else. He has the potential of becoming the next Horror Icon, like a Kane Hodder or a Robert Englund. He has the build, and the look that can make him a true horror star. and A.J. Cook, or Criminal Minds and Final Destination fame is stunning. Not only is A.J. beautiful, but (and I didn't know this) she speaks fluent French, which totally adds to her hotness. Now add that to her acting talent, and she's a total package.Congrats to all involved on a fantastic piece of work, HIGHLY recommend.
