If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
View MoreBlending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
View MoreAll of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
View MoreThis is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
View MoreAmbitious Jessica (foxy brunette Stephanie Mathis), rugged Russ (hunky Phil Lander), sweet, kooky aspiring singer Kat (adorable blonde sprite Erin Holt), scrappy tomboy Mel (solid Denise Lorraine), and laid-back thrill-seeking rich guy Nolan (amiable Adam Van Conant) all volunteer for a reality TV show in which they have to spend a day at the notorious Camp Blood in order to win the $1 million dollar prize money. Sleazeball producer Tony (a perfectly smarmy David Sobel) hires slobby stuntman Griff (an amusingly coarse Jeff Swarthout) to scare the contestants. But the murderous the Clown (creepy Alex Gordon) shows up to do his nasty lethal thing once again. Writer/director Brad Sykes comes up with a surprisingly good and worthwhile third entry in the "Camp Blood" trilogy which proves to be a marked improvement on the previous enjoyably cruddy films: Andrew Gianetta's sharp, polished cinematography, the convincing make-up f/x, the steady pace, Terry M. Huud's eerie'n'funky syncopated score, the bleakly ironic surprise twist ending, a decent smattering of gratuitous female nudity (Athena Demos as a hot brunette model bares her lovely breasts), the genuinely likable main characters (Kat in particular is an absolute doll!), a reasonable amount of grisly bloodshed, and the acceptable acting from an attractive bunch of unknowns are all uniformly up to speed. Sykes alas fails to generate any real tension, but that minor criticism aside this movie overall sizes up as a fun and satisfying slice'n'dice body count horror romp.
View MoreNothing to say but Wow! Has anyone actually had somebody sneak up on them in an open field? Well this happens about 25 times in this movie(clearly the directors' favorite scare tactic). In one of the opening scenes the smooth talking/hot shot producer has to ride in the back seat so the camera man could sit in the front to film. Shortly after he arrives to the field the 5 contestants show up and, although it is clearly at latest 2 in the afternoon they are all convinced that the sun will set any minute. After about 30 minutes of boobless trash we are privileged with a flashback of the clown's history in which we see some of his previous victims. If you watch this movie check out the ladies chest.. her ribs go all the way to her neck, it was flat out disgusting. Most horror movies action occurs during the night but without a night vision camera the chaos is forced to happen during the day. The few night shots that did make it in to the movie look like they were stolen from the Blair Witch Project or random shots from the directors backyard. The movie somewhat redeemed itself in the end when there was a matrix like shoot out with the clown that we rewound and watched over and over laughing hysterically.Definitely RENT THIS MOVIE IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN SNUCK UP ON IN AN OPEN FIELD.SIGNED, THE ANSWER
View MoreA reality show producer dreams up a sure winner for ratings when he sets up 5 lucky finalists to spend just 24 hours at "Camp Blood" A place with a macabre history. Good plot and writing. It's a well paced movie which can be very difficult to do even by the best of them, great performances by all the cast but one and I'll leave you to find that lucky winner. Death befalls the cast members early in the movie and you are kept on the edge of your seat after that. The "Clown Theme" is brilliant in my view, a simple phrase that ends forebodingly. It's a good addition to any collector of this genre with a well produced "extras" feature where you can appreciate the difficult conditions under which the movie was filmed. The spoiler, well lets just says it pays homage to "Valentine"
View MoreWhat can you say? Nothing's better than watching pretty girls run through the woods while being chased by a big nasty killer clown! This isn't a big budget adventure - but as long as you go in knowing that it's a fun and campy story - well... then it WILL indeed be a fun and campy movie! The gals are hot... and you just can't help but give a little cheer each time someone who deserves it gets all slashed up... There are some admirable performances and moments by the cast... which in this story consists primarily of 5 "victims" that show up thinking they've been put on a reality TV show. The "show" has a very simple premise - stay in CAMP BLOOD, (Which has a HISTORY of horrible killings, mayhem and random slaughter!), for 24 hours without any assistance and win a million bucks! I'd do it - wouldn't YOU??!!Relax... enjoy it! I did...
