Without Warning Trailers

A television program is interupted by a news network announcing that three meteors have hit the United States, France and China. At first it seems natural but after interviews by scientists and eyewitness seems to suggest that it is not. Three more meteors are coming and the various Earth governments combine forces to stop them.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

If not anything else, "Without Warning" proves that a film can be memorable and highly original without being brilliant. This is by no means a masterpiece, but it fully serves its purpose and resembles a punch in the stomach when you least expect it. Didn't come up with high expectations (found it on YouTube), but the uncertainty building up throughout the film kept me watching. The ending caught me completely off guard. What makes this film so disturbing is that the story unwraps slowly, without being too explicit or over the top. By far one of the most plausible and haunting pieces apocalyptic fiction I've ever seen.

This is not really a review but it must be said. I am English and watched the film on a cable channel that showed the film with no commerical breaks stating how the entire affair of the apocalypse was totally fictitious. And I must say that both myself and my innocent family sat through this apparently 'real' news flash and to be put lightly, I (censored)ing (censored) myself! I was 8 years old and it may well have scarred me for life and it left us hugging together infront of our tvscreen of static waiting for the alien meteors to kill us.But it probably doest have the same effect on DVD.

In a time when movies and TV films are jam-packed with CGI aliens and robots and such, it was pretty interesting to see a Sci-fi movie where there's no 100% proof that it involves aliens. That being said, this film is terrible.I'll pass up on the time frame believability because they had to fit the movie into a 2 hour slot for TV, and had to jam a lot of storyline into a short amount of time. But there are so many things that would not, or could not, happen. For example, what are the chances that EWN would have a camera crew in Colombo, Sri Lanka to interview Arthur C. Clarke? And why would their science consultant end up being their co-anchor? And why would a high-ranking Pentagon officer decide to take time out from the crisis to make some glib comments on the news? Shouldn't he be doing his job? However, I will say this: great premise (especially since it was a TV movie, the news format was rather effective). It had potential to be a huge hit... but I don't think it was (I just watched this film in my astronomy class).::POSSIBLE SPOILER::In my personal opinion, they should have ended the film with the asteroids raining down on the Earth... injecting the Shakespeare quote at the end seemed... frivolous, and an attempt to be poetic. Sometimes, especially in a movie like this, you want to leave the viewer with a lump in their gut. My personal opinion.Overall, an enjoyable movie. I'd watch it again if it was on TV, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.
