Yeh Vaada Raha is one of Bollywood's first films to explore Plastic Surgery, The film is a remake of THE PROMISE(1979) The film has a good story and it's well handled, the twist in the story is well handled, the emotions too are well captured. The film does have some flaws like in the first half, 4-5 songs come in quick succession but thats perhaps due to the twist in the story, The director explores the love story superbly, the mother's track too is well handled. Direction is good Music by RD Burman is awesome,The duo of Kishore and Asha sing all the songs, Tu Tu Hai Wohi is very famous till today, while other songs too are superbRishi Kapoor is superb in his role, he plasy the romantic lover superbly Poonam Dhillon and Tina Munim are both superb in their roles, thankfully the director got their voices dubbed by Jaya Bachchan so that one voice could be used throughout. Shammi Kapoor is superb, Raakhee is superb as Rishi's mother(though she was few years older to him, strangely in the same year she played mother to the older Amitabh Bachchan). Rakesh Bedi lends good support, rest are okay

This movie by Ramesh Behl (Rose movies) is actually one of the best remakes Bollywood has ever made of a Hollywood movie. Everything in this movie just fell into place. I mean the acting is superb, the casting is very good, the cast itself is phenomenal. But then again we are talking about Rishi Kapoor so that should be normal, the guy is always good even if the movie isn't. Rishi Kapoor is the son of a rich Raakhee Gulzar. He falls in love with a poor singer, Poonam Dhillon. They want to get married. At first Raakhee objects but finally agrees. Before they get married they get in a car accident and Poonam her face get smashed. Rishi thinks she has died and Raakhee has her sent away so that Rishi can get married to another rich girl Sarika (okay so the movie isn't perfect). Shammi Kapoor, a doctor, performs plastic surgery on Poonam and after he does she becomes Tina Munim. When Rishi and Tina meet something happens. Rishi cant explain why but he wants to be close to her not knowing Tina is actually Poonam. Nice thing is that Poonam and Tina have the same voice in the movie. Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan had dubbed for both actresses and it works very very well. All the songs sung by Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhonsle under music direction of RD Burman are evergreen classics : Milgayee Aaj Kuch Lehren, Aesa Kabhi Huwa Nahin, Jeene Ko Toh Jeete Hai Sabhi but the best of the lot is the title song TU TU HAI WOHI DILNE JISE APNA KAHAN TU HAI JAHAN MAIN HOON WAHAN ABE TOH JEH JEENA TERE BIN HAI SAZAA which gets remixed even today. Watch this movie, better, buy this movie

This is my all-time FAVOURITE movie. I don't even know how many times I've watched it... must be close to 40... This is one of those classics that stays in your heart forever. I just have to say though, until this last time when I watched it, this movie was a really serious one for me, in the sense that I could find very little wrong with it. But I really have to share some funny parts with you. First when Vicky's mother's sari gets stuck in the car door, and second during the accident, dummies were obviously used, but if you watch the driver's side VERY carefully, you'll see the head fall off when the car hits the truck. haha. but otherwise, an EXCELLENT movie - you gotta see it!

Classic songs, different storyline, excellent acting, beautiful cinematography. I've seen this movie many-a-times and would never tire of it. It's clean, entertaining, and interesting. There is an unexpected twist in the movie that makes it different from your normal Indian love stories. The ending may become a bit predictable watching it today, but for the time it was made, it's excellent. The best part is the collection of songs. The famous song from it "Tu tu hai wohi" has been resung and remixed over and over by the young generations. A sweet, emotional drama made for the romantic at heart of all ages. Definitely worth a watch!
