Sadly Over-hyped

I don't have all the words right now but this film is a work of art.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

This was indeed a zombie nightmare! Being a zombie fan, then I basically devour (no pun intended) just about anything with zombies. Usually what is unearthed is bad, which is a shame, because the zombie genre is flooded with releases that are unwatchable and laughable attempts at being movies.Such was also the case with "Zombie Nightmare". In fact, it was actually so bad that I had to turn it off, and didn't make it through to the end.The story in the movie is about a group of young kids who accidentally run down young aspiring baseball guy. Without stopping to check if he is alright, the group just speeds off into the night. Griefstruck, the mother of the victim gets help from a voodoo woman, who brings back the dead son from the dead. He returns as an reanimated zombie who sets out to seek revenge on those who killed him.It was hard to believe that this movie was from 1987, because it just screamed late 70's or early 80's production and movie-making.The acting in the movie was actually fair enough, though there was nothing impressive to behold here. And I don't got to see Adam West, because I gave up on the movie before he entered the movie (or at least I didn't notice him)."Zombie Nightmare" is so cheesy, campy and bad that it is bound to give you a zombie nightmare indeed if you manage to stick with it to the very end.

I watched this movie through Mystery Science Theater 3000. The basic plot is that a baseball player (did they even say his name?) gets hit by a car driven by delinquent teenagers (I'm sorry did I say delinquent? I meant psychopathic) and his mother wants to resurrect him so she gets a voodoo priestess to resurrect him as a zombie and he has to kill his killers so he can become completely human again. The plot is silly in itself - which can make way for an okay B Movie but this doesn't go to the level of "so bad it's fun". There are scenes that really do have little or no relevance to the plot. All the characters you can't really root for, because not only do they have no back story but they're irritating and 1 dimensional. Now I'm sure that you might find a few recognizable faces in this. There's Adam West (which explains my title) and Tia Carrere. I'm not one of those "here's my opinion you must have it" critics anymore but while watching this you really have to wonder what they were doing in it.So watch it through MST3K but not through anything else.

You would think that a movie with zombies(two of 'em!),bloody revenge, Tia Carrere, voodoo, a weird voodoo priestess, heavy metal music, pasta flingin', screamin', and nanananana Batmaaan would have at least some entertainment value. Well... It doesn't. I'm glad the filmmakers and cast seem to be good sports about what MST3K did to it. I have to say, Zombie nightmare is one of my all-time favorite episodes of that show. The only reason I didn't give this stupid movie one star is that it sort of had a semi coherent plot.I usually only rate movies one star if the plot is especially weak or incoherent. Um... I have to finish 10 lines so,uh, I'd just like to say if you have to see this movie, catch it on the MST3K DVD on volume 15.

I found this being sold at the video store with no box, I just saw the title and figured it would not hurt to get it, and I had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. My expectations were not at all high as I popped in the VHS. Soon, I saw Adam West was in it and thought..."Holy Guacamole Batman, this might be good!" Was it good? No. Did I like it? Somewhat. This film has absolutely no redeeming qualities, bad acting, bad dialog, bad special effects, but there is something about this film. The basic plot is this cool dude dies because some idiots killed him so he comes back as a "zombie" to kill them. Armed with a baseball bat they all get killed in rather comical and unoriginal ways. This is worth a look since it is oh so bad, but oh so good. I find it to be an entertaining bad movie. Check it out!
