As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

Fantastic retro zombie flick , if this had been made in the eighties it would stand amongst the greats of that period. Very grainy and seductive portrait of a zombie influx. Great retro acting set in Serbia , lots of bad critics on here , I think they have only seen walking dead and the like. This is from a diff era , the classics , where zombies move slowly and there is a steady deep interweaving plot which thickens with tension just like in the original zombie films. This film is nothing but pure retro class , amazing that there are film makers out there today willing to put themselves on the line to create a masterpiece for those of us who know what zombie visions really are . Had nightmares after this film for two days which tells you just how amazing this piece of Serbian film work is. Masterpiece.

This film contains some interesting ideas, including a warrior prophet who thinks humanity is being punished for... producing global warming.It contains some goofy moments, including a professor who decides to check the area has become poison-free. How? By removing a gas mask from his head.It contains some downright strange things happening, for example a zombie who bites one person, then runs.Unfortunately, that means very little. This movie drowns under formulaic plot points you will already be tired of if you've watched any of several (hundred?) zombie films released before. If the same film were released several times, under different titles, instead of multiple films like this getting released, it wouldn't make much difference.Perhaps that's why it was called "Apocalypse of the Dead" during the opening credits and ending credits called it "Zone of the Dead"

I really love zombie movies, the good ones and the bad ones. This one falls somewhere in the middle. Most zombie movies I see are terrible, and not worth watching once, let alone adding to the collection to watch in the future.I would say this is worth adding to a zombie movie collection. But if you aren't a zombie fan, then this movie is probably not for you.It has about as much drama as a Resident Evil video game, and the acting isn't much better. But it's far better than most of the zombie trash that comes out lately. I would say this movie just barely fits in to the top 50 zombie/flesh eating movies of all time.

I am generally a major fan of Zombie flicks as theses tend to be one of my favourite within the horror genre. However Zone of the Dead a.k.a Apocalypse of the Dead in my opinion has to be rated as one of the WORST EVER ZOMBIE FLICKS I have ever seen. At one stage i actually could not even tell whether the film was dubbed or was just bad acting. However it may have improved during the whole film but i could not tell you as i only watched about 25mins or so before i gave it up watching it before i started to fall asleep... In my opinion i would personally say to you watch Terrestial TV rather than watch this film as you would have better entertainment, unless you need something to help you sleep at night then this is the perfect flick for you...
