    The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

    The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

    Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

    We used to love this show. The reenactments added to the story and made for a spooky experience. Just closing your eyes and listening to the story without the hints given in the reenactments made for a much more tame story, so we learned to have fun with the dramatization. Lately though it seems more like watching videos from a Christian Youth Camp. Instead of ghosts there are demons everywhere and a constant feeling of being preached at rather than spooked. If you play with Ouija boards at a sleep over, your children will be haunted. If you look at or touch this or that, you're cursed. There are less paranormal investigations and families working together and many more clergymen.Hopefully they will go back to the old paranormal show that they were before. Otherwise this family will give up and move on to something with more interest and less religion pushing.

    I was so excited to hear that the creators of this show were bringing it back in 2012. I have watched rerun after rerun of the previous seasons. My favorite episode being "Unleashed." Now there seems to be some haters reviewing this show and it seems that their problem is not so much with the content of the show but more about organized religion or more specifically Christianity. If they accept that these are true stories and the individuals involved are just relating to us what exactly happened and how they dealt with their haunting (Christian methodology in most cases) then how can they not agree that the Christian way of eradicating the spirits is good if the outcome is good. And apparently it seems to be the only way that works. It's a great show that brings to light the spiritual battle that goes on beyond our physical realm yet it shows very well how these beings want to effect our world and in some cases the well being of the individual being haunted.

    This show is pretty good. It's forensic files with ghosts, possibly even the same narrator.Each episode is great, and despite the far fetched subject matter, manages to come off reasonably authentic. Even compared to a well made horror film, the dramatizations here are scary and suspenseful, and don't hesitate to make you jump. For dramatic effect, there are interviews with psychiatrists, priests, and psychics galore, involved in each case that help to give the story a little more credibility and suspend disbelief. It's really easy to just give in and believe all of these people and their stories.

    I've always been interested in the paranormal, and there are not many dramas that do justice to what must be a fearful experience. Not all of the episodes of "A Haunting" are great, but those that are I found to be as terrifying as any drama regarding the paranormal, on TV or in the theater. The creators most certainly have taken the stories they are given and had plenty of creative license with them, but that doesn't bother me a bit. If you want more "realism" in your paranormal show, then there are a number of reality haunted house shows, EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena) recordings, and the like that could occupy days of your time, but I frankly become quite bored with such things. Definitely give this series a look.
