Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

The story had some potential, but sadly, when your scriptwriters are less than mediocre, it doesn't matter how much potential a story has because it will still suck. I gave it a 5 because:1. Over 80% of the lines are predicable and dumb (I mean really dumb). I don't understand why shows like this, Colony or The Walking Dead are completely destroyed by stupid lines and stupid characters. Which brings me to point no. 2;2. The characters themselves are just dumb (I mean really dumb). In the real world such people would either die quickly or kill themselves out of stupidity. The only one with an IQ over 75 is Brianna. The rest seem retarded.I really don't understand who hires scriptwriters like those who ruined this show since ep. 1. I really don't.

I still wonder why am I wasting my time watching this series every week... surely because I love a good laugh, and I always laugh at how bad Aftermath is, especially how very absurd the story is and how it can become more and more absurd as new episodes come out... the story is bad, the acting is bad...

We really like this show. It is very different and has a good mystery sense to it throughout each episode. The only thing I do not like is the Anne Heche character, it is horrible. But, the rest is great. The story line, the developing thriller, etc. all good. The majority of the haters in this review list all just watched the first episode and based their opinion solely on that. It was a very good episode. Based on what I have read most did not even pay attention to what the episode was telling the audience. The acting is well done, the writing is good, and it slowly develops as it goes to maintain the suspense. You must get past the first episode, to see what it is all about. I have seen several reviewers refer to zombies in the show. It is not about zombies....

like another reviewer said, it grows on you after 3 episodes! definitely worth to binge watch it. I think the show is been over criticize and badly judge,like Z nation. in my opinion, the Family members have well developed characters that grow well as the season advance. The mom and dad are physical actors and The mom is The alpha in the couple, why not, she is the one with an army background. She play her role perfectly an with enthusiasm . Each episodes keep moving locations and events, new characters shows up, situations have to be dealt with or resolve, lots of action and movements. The dialogues are cheesy as can be the drama sometimes, but there is also great comments and acting/reacting too. This apocalyptic end of the world show is made for diversion and enjoyment of its excess and implausible reality. its definitely worth 7 as a first season, like z nation give it a chance and enjoy it. way better in character then some of the more intellectual or true to science TV show that get 8+
