    Pretty Good

It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

I remember it was presented in French (dubbed in Quebec by local comedians) and was very entertaining. This was what Hanna-Barbera did best by the end of the 60s before the Scooby Doo years and then their other series...An Arabian prince gets dethroned by an evil Vizir and must flee Baghdad with the help of a magician. With the help of his lovely cousin (a master of disguise), a strongman, a shape-shifter and a very funny but feisty donkey, these unlikely fugitives will try to dodge the evil vizier's army and restore justice in the kingdom.Sort of a Robin Hood in the land of the Arabian Nights if we pay attention closely to each of the episodes.

Originally part of the Banana Splits show (c. 1968-1971?), The Arabian Knights later was seen in syndication (c. 1977)before disappearing off radar. Typical HB adventure 'toon, a strong guy, a magic using guy, a beautiful princess who needed rescuing and the token 'freak', in this case, a burro that became a lightning-spewing dervish if you pulled it's tail. Set in Arabia, camels, Sultans and the like populate the landscape. Stock HB voice talent (I think they employed about 4 people to do voices in their toons in the '60s) Specifics elude me as it's been 25+ years since I've seen it, but I do recall it being entertaining to me at the time.
