Best movie of this year hands down!
It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
View MoreA great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
View MoreThe joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
View MoreBatman: The Animated Series of one of the greatest animated series of all time, and definitely my favorite iteration of Batman. The show has fantastic art, music, acting, and an extremely dark atmosphere that fits the show perfectly. Something I noticed when re-watching this show as a young adult is that it's incredibly dark especially for a children's show. Many mature themes like loss, death, and despair are frequent from episode to episode. I can't recommend this show to a very young audience, but everyone else should definitely see this, especially fans of the Batman series.
View MoreBefore Nolan's The Dark Knight, many fans will attest (and we still do) that the defining adaptation of Batman is this.Batman TAS solidifies the legend as well as bringing the mythos to a newer audience. Reintroducing and successfully interpreting favorite villains in inventive ways - Mark Hamill's Joker is still the defining Joker, Mr Freeze backstory is touching and original and of course, the series spawned the new fan favorite at the time, Harley Quinn. While the series animation might seem a bit dated compared now, the story, the style, the brilliant voice-acting, is still relevant and much appreciated.
View MoreWhat can anyone say about this show that it rocks that is truly amazing and the way it brings so many great villains in it like the Joker, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Clayface, Bane, Man-Bat, Riddler, Scarecrow, Penguin, Mad Hatter and many more. Batman: The Animated Series is by far the best Batman TV Show because with each episode it gets better and better we see Batman fighting the joker alongside Robin we see him fighting himself in a dream we even see him fighting crocodiles. This show is far more entertaining and far more true on the comics than the abomination that Joel Schumacher created on 1997 called Batman & Robin. I give it a 10 and an A +
View More"Batman: The Animated Series" made its indelible mark on me when I was a kid and it's no secret why this show's still my favorite interpretation of the Dark Knight. You can look at an episode like 'Heart of Ice' or 'Almost Got 'im' and immediately get what this series is about: pathos, but also a playful spin on the rogues gallery (which is extensive); it spends some time on Bruce's inner torment but also has plenty to offer fans of all ages. And just look at the laundry list of character actors they got for these roles. Feels like I'm always hearing someone new even after watching this show for more than twenty years. And there's a reason why Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill still appear in modern movies and video games (as Batman and The Joker, respectively): they're ideal. The proof is right there. And this is the show that introduced Harley Quinn, a character so good DC assimilated her into comics continuity.Like any show, it's not without its clunkers ('Christmas with the Joker', anyone?), but this is a brilliant TV show, with one foot in noir aesthetics and the other in old Hollywood entertainment (you can frame and wall-mount any of those title cards). It is exemplary.10/10
