The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

what a great show!! it is so great and awesome! I love that it shines a light on the down syndrome community. All the people in it are so sweet and awesome and you really want them to accomplish their dreams and go against what the world says that they can't do. It also some very funny moments as well. I will always love this show and it will always have a special in my heart. Down syndrome people can do anything anyone else can do.

I was all raw emotions watching this show. I was all smiles, and grins, and tears. I was all pride.I was so proud of these wonderful young men and women for pursuing their dreams and making their voice heard despite all social expectations.I was mostly in awe of how these supposedly "disable" people were lacking most of the flaws and the baggage that many of us, the people labeled as "normal", have.I couldn't help but ask myself…What does "intellectual and developmental" disabilities really mean? What gives whom the right to define it?The same way misery and violence make me question God existence, these wonderful people made me think there is God and he created down syndrome to teach the rest of us what wholeness really is.It's like God said… "I'll put all this big obstacles around one single being to show you what doesn't matter and what does. How to have a clear speech, or a good muscular toned, or a good handle of math doesn't matter. What matters is HOW you live your life. What kind of person you are. How you overcome the obstacles in your way to purse happiness. HOW and WHO you are is what matters."One of the moms in the show said "they are the closest thing to God" and me, the skeptical agnostic that often rolls her eyes at any mention to God… I just nodded in utter agreement. YES THEY ARE.I cannot recommend this show enough.I watched it with my kids and we talked about how we ALL are all wonderful beings with the right to pursue happiness. We also talked about how life can make this pursue of happiness difficult and therefore, why it is important that we support our fellow human beings instead of setting more obstacles each other.

This reality series features six young adults with Down syndrome and their families. If this series helps show their dreams and realities. They don't let Down syndrome define their lives. If you know somebody having a Down syndrome child and are considering terminating the pregnancy, please watch this show. This program shows that having a Down syndrome child isn't the end of the world. This series shows they can have normal lives including going to college, having jobs, getting married and more. Congratulations on a well deserved Emmy. The six adults meet at a center in Los Angeles, California. If this series can be educate others about Down syndrome then maybe there wouldn't be a termination rate of about 75%.

I don't usually rate shows/movies a 10/10 unless they are both (nearly) flawless and socially important. I saw commercials for "Born This Way" on A&E before watching it and was very fearful that it would be exploitative but it is not. This show is incredibly educational, thoughtful, and well-made. There are scenes and topics that may not be for the faint of the heart but that is what makes this show, and it's cast, so special and unique. It is very real. In one episode, a viewer can almost assuredly feel an entire spectrum of feelings and emotions for the characters. The cast and their families have an unfiltered charm that is often lacking in 'reality' TV. I found myself laughing hysterically with the cast during one segment before almost being in tears during the next segment. The show is a perfect balance of genuine, heartfelt, and funny moments mixed with incredibly difficult (and sometimes sad) topics that most viewers may never think about if it weren't for this show."Born This Way" is an incredibly thoughtful and socially important show with a cast that is impossible not to love.
