Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
it is the rare 'crazy' movie that actually has something to say.
View MoreStory: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
View MoreThis came out while I was in college. I remember recognizing the lead characters from the movie Excalibur. I recall it being well acted with believable and compelling characters. The scenery seemed authentic. And the stories revolved around family life and values but was set during the time of knights and kingsI watched it faithfully and then it just up and disappeared. Years later I recall seeing several or maybe a gazillion TV shows based around the same time period with similar, if not slightly more unbelievable and fantastic, myths. It's very refreshing to be reminded that as parents, and humans in general, though technologies have changed, our base feelings of love and compassion as well as the various stages and angst of emotional growth remains the same.I very much wish they'd replay these, if not revive them. :)
View MoreI really liked CC show aired in our TV during early 90s.Covington Cross is a show a little similar to current BBC Merlin. It is a set or medieval stories with a modern point of view, of course without special effects and magic.Costumes are perfect, show is full of intelligent humor and fun.The most important message for watchers is: difficult but always honest decisions will bring happiness.I regret its early cancellation.I hope someone will remake this wonderful show one day.Where can i get this show these days? I want to see it again after years.I searched on Amazon but show is not available for order.
View MoreReuniting Excalibur's King Arthur (Terry) as Sir Thomas Grey, with his queen (Lunghi) as his neighbor-turning love interest Lady Elizabeth, this series seemed perfectly created for those who love medieval period pieces. It was somewhat light on exact history, but did not outright thrash all realism like the Xena/Hurcules shows did. Ione Skye was beautiful as the tomboy only daughter of Lord Grey and the lads (though you had as much trouble keeping track of which ones were about as their father did) all gave splendid performances. The scenery was breathtaking and even though it played itself up as a drama, it's approach was refreshing compared to all the modern day shows airing.Unfortunately, it was too 'geeky' for the average viewer, and perhaps not geeky enough (the mushiness might have turned off fan-boys) for the average fan of knights and wizards and such, so it faded into obscurity almost as quickly as it appeared.I mourn its loss and wish it was available to watch somewhere in some form. It may not have been the best of writing, but it was novel in the way it approached telling the stories. Perhaps too novel for its time.
View Morethis was such a good series when it was on but the next thing i knew it was off the air. it was several years back when this was on tv so it is hard to remember faces and names so if any one can please tell me whether cedric grey (played by beautiful glenn quinn- "angel"s doyle on the wb) was the youngest son or one of the two elder sons. this was a wonderful show and i hope it's few airings will be placed on video so i can continue to see them. they always take away the good ones.
