    A Disappointing Continuation

It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

The title of the series i felt was justified, and should stand as is as it represents a classic movie that has aired from generation to generation. In one sense i disliked it because it was aired at a time where the audience was still captivated by the original movie so the audience never really was discovered if more promoting and running time was given i think it would have stood on its own for accreditation. In another sense i felt the TV series brought some shining moments that were not apparent in the original film for example the live singing that took place that really brought a whole new perspective to the TV series and i feel it was a great move by the producers of the show. There are truly in film industries both pros and cons to all films made in comparison of the two i think they both had the same output for the audience as far as originality i think the sitcom had more of a reality to it then the movie as it was based around family and friends in a real time situation. I wont compare on the actors as it would be bias on my part considering i was a participating cast Actor in both the film and the sitcom. I believe every actor and actress have their own style and to judge who was better would be insulting to those who were casted in the film and TV sitcom. I truly wish the promoting of it continue for another season i believe the audience would have come but due to the short running of it i feel that it wasn't given its justified time to get out and be noticed. I enjoyed being part of both the motion film and sitcom and that cast for both were just amazing. Tales from one of the original cast members of both film and TV. I believe that if they ever do decide to try and bring back the TV series of it and gave it an honest promotional advertising of it i think that it would truly become a much loved show. Come on Kenny or Steven give it one more try the movie is a true classic one loved by all ages even to this day and with the development of video and technology today there are no limits what the sitcom can bring to the audience in today's time 1987 -88 was when technology was still a ongoing growth of the mind and capabilities of the human concept. I believe that if they brought the sitcom back in today's modern world it would truly go off the charts as one of the best sitcoms out there. Rating of the two film and TV sitcom i believe would have come very close and i also think that with today's audience and tomorrows technology the emotions and the pureness of the cast decides on the audience. There will always be positive and negative but in today society with all the advancement of today's Screenplays and Writers the knowledge of the Directors and Producer and the wisdom obtained over the years i believe that it would always be one of those names you can't forget Dirty Dancing was one of the most loved movies of all times and those fans of the movie will always remember the one's who brought it to its fame and i believe the sitcom has the same potential to bring it to the top as well.

This series kind of missed its window of opportunity - but it didn't help that it was scheduled where it's target audience was sure to miss it. I actually liked it better than the movie. I thought the writing was better and the acting in many ways was better. I thought Patrick Cassidy had a better feel of who Johnny Castle was than his movie counterpart. All in all, I thought the series had a better feel for the characters and period. It's a shame it never found an audience.
