Nice effects though.
A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.
Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
View MoreYes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
View MoreI completely disagree, I think this show is absolutely hilarious and very well done. Kirstie did what wanted to do and she was herself, and that's what makes it a good show. I'm not exactly sure what I was expecting to see, but I recently found them on our "On Demand" channel and thought I'd watch the first one. My friends and I all watched it, and we all agreed that it was a very good show and watched every episode of season 1. Even after I've seen them all, I go back and watch my favorites. I'm not one to watch much TV, it just doesn't entertain me, but I've always been pulled toward Kirstie's movies and TV shows, they're the best!
View MoreChris McDonald, for some bizarre reason, was really sexy in a sick kind of way in this episode. He is such a talented actor. And I LOVE Kirsty's clothing! This episode was a riot, and I imagine Kirstys family might actually be this wacky! (or maybe not.) Its such a shame that the public craves negative accounts of her life. Its the fataphobe frame of mind in the industry though. I believe one day the rubenesque female figure will one day be back in vogue. I'm totally disgusted when I see women whose backbones are as prominent as a starving horses. And their gowns seem to just hang, "nondescript" on their anorexic bodies. If I want to see a woman shaped like that I'll just look at it while its still on the hanger. At least our wonderful "fat actress" has curves. This show is a very lighthearted look at the lives of Californias famous neighbors.
View MoreThis show was the jam to me, I recorded them on Tivo & watched them every week. I really thought that the show would last. The cast is so down to earth and I love Kristy, she has inspired so many of us who are over weight & love it. At this day & age skinny is ugly & sick! Most men want a woman with meat on there bones. The episodes remind me of a counseling session, Some parts are hilarious. Every one has there own opinion. This is mine & i hope that it counts. There isn't a whole lot of programs that interest me. I record the soap operas on CBS & fat actress, that's all. I'm a busy women but, this show is actually one of my favorite's, Thanks Kristy & Crew
View MoreRan into the show by chance. Had no idea it was airing. I ended up becoming an instant fan of it. Sure, it could be funnier, but no show is perfect. If it were that easy to write a 100% fabulous show, then we'd never have any bad shows getting canceled or fizzling out. What I love about "Fat Actress" is that it's not like most shows. You don't know what's gonna happen next. It's not predictable. Just when you think it's going one way, it makes a U-turn and goes another. This show is not your typical sitcom. It does a great job at mocking people who think taking laxatives or doing crack is the best way to lose weight. It's not making fun of over-weight people. It's making fun of the insane people who think these "solutions" are beneficial. It also contains strong language and sexual content. But if you live in the real world, you know these are common things in real life. If you're offended by such things, then take notice that the show is on Showtime and has warnings at the start of the program to give you a chance to turn the channel.A lot of shows start out not as great as they could be, so instead of watching the first few episodes and saying "it sucks," keep in mind that it takes time for a show to find it's groove.I hope to see much more of "Fat Actress," Kirstie Alley and all those involved in--what I think is--an amusing show. Congrats to the cast and crew for going a different route and making something a bit more rare.
