There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

I've only seen Season One of this show. House of Lies loses a point because some of its humour is a clever but low brow, so to speak. It doesn't need to do that. This show reminds me of Newsroom, its fast and witty, in the same way Madame Secretary, or even The White House is fast and witty. I'm from Australia so a lot of modern American humour sails right past me, but even so I was riveted by the banter, the juxtaposition of serious to clowning around and the cleverness of the plots. And perfect suspense. Oddly I bought this on DVD from an Op Shop but couldn't find it at the stores. Obviously I got really lucky that day!

I think my Summary says it all! Don Cheadle knows biracial children are seldom portrayed authentically on television -- save commercials. The protagonist/antagonist's baby is not representative of a biracial child. Why are you perpetuating this "Black" baby stereotype -- Don?The motif of the show is black and white -- sameness. This storyline is neither provocative or imaginative. The protagonist's baby could have been blond and alabaster. That would have added more texture to the already textured story. Where is the story in a overwrought out of wedlock oops? I am disappointed... Once upon a time, you guys were fearless.

What started out as a scathing, hilarious indictment of the management consulting racket within just a few episodes has unfortunately turned into a heart-warming/-wrenching story about dysfunctional family life and damaged people.Even the remnant veneer of business-side stories are beginning to cast the consultants as good guys, working hard to save troubled businesses rather than the leaches and scum of the original premise. Also, very regrettably the show falls for the false premise that gender-bending is automatically funny and risqué. In fact for those to be funny they have to be, well, funny, as opposed to simply slapped in with a teenage breathlessness about how cool they are.

House of Lies is a dramatic / comedy television series. House of Lies is about a team of management consultants that belong to Galweather & Stearn. Senior Partner, Marty Kaan, Engagement Manager Jeannie van der Hooven and Associates: Clyde Oberholdt and Doug Guggenheim go to the extreme to seal the deal and will literally stop at nothing to do so. I mean they will literally stop at nothing! They will steal, scam, prostitute, move mountains, and possibly even kill to get the deal done. Yet they never have enough money or successes and they always need to do another deal. With mostly the dirty aspects into the corporate world this dramatic comedy will keep you entertained. - Asif Zamir
