SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?

    Dreadfully Boring

Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

Technically, Invasion America was fairly impressive. It appeared to be an attempt to translate Japanese animation techniques onto North American television. In that, it was relatively successful.Unfortunately, the plot resembled something out of a B-movie. David is a young man with an alien heritage who discovers that his uncle is planning to invade America. During his quest, he finds a presidential fort WITHOUT a working fence, asteroids that hit the earth causing explosions only slightly larger than the rocks themselves, a character who can apparently read subtitles, and villains who conveniently speak in English to each other whenever an earthling is around. If there hadn't been so much to laugh at, this would have truly been a groundbreaking series. Sadly, at best it is a curiosity.

This TV series has received some praise here for being some "groundbreaking" sci-fi, dramatic animated TV series in prime time. The dialog was absolutely weak, the plot was flimsy, and much of it seemed to be cliches taken from tons of other science fiction programs. Now while I don't have a problem with borrowing ideas, unlike something like Star Wars, it doesn't transcend them and create something new. Plus the animation was uninspired, and the CG stuck out like a sore thumb. There are better dramatic animation titles with adult appeal than this on television. Watch Gundam Wing Uncut, which has the same level of violence and language, plus relatively original plot elements that haven't been used 100 times already. Or watch the hugely underrated Beast Wars, Batman, or Gargoyles.

I seldom watch TV, but this show really captivated me. I made a point of seeing every episode. Now, almost a year later, I'm still involved with it.DreamWorks did a fantastic job with it. I really hope they'll give us the rest of the story -- there are so many unanswered questions!

Invasion America was one of the best examples of animated primetime drama it has ever been my privilege to witness. One can only hope that this series was only the first of many programs of this calibre.I salute the screenwriter's talent;the plot was absolutely superb!May this series return for many more seasons.
