While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

The story-telling is good with flashbacks. The film is both funny and heartbreaking. You smile in a scene and get a soulcrushing revelation in the next.

The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.

I am not saying that this is the best show on Disney, because it isn't. But along with Phineas and Ferb and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody it is one of the better ones, and much better than Hannah Montana and Cory in the House, which are full of the things that the negative commentators criticise this show for(ie. bad acting, bad writing and stereotyping).Yes some of the characters are clichéd and some of the situations predictable, but we also have some funny writing and some story lines that work really nicely. The show is not that bad to look at, and I like the music, it is pretty funky. And the acting is not that bad, Hilary Duff is not the best actress ever but she is likable, and that is the same with her co-stars. Overall, you mayn't like this show at first, but I honestly don't think it is that bad. I have seen better shows but there are much worse out there as well. 8/10 Bethany Cox

I watched this show a lot when I was little (6,7,8). I looked up to Lizzie and her group of friends, and I adored everything about this show. This show is about a middle schooler named Lizzie who has a normal life-Embarrassing parents, an annoying little brother, two best friends, a worst enemy, and a crush on the hottest guy in school. Her parents are loving and supportive, but are sometimes overprotective. Her brother Matt always is getting into trouble and shenanigans. Her two best friends are Gordo and Miranda. Gordo is a typical smart, more mature guy. Not only is he extremely smart, he doesn't care what other people think of him, and he always gives Lizzie the best advice. Miranda, Lizzie's other best friend, is a lot like Lizzie, but more superficial, and she cares a lot about being popular. Lizzie has to deal with the head cheerleader/most popular girl in school, Kate, whom she was former BFF's with. Kate insults her and her friends a lot, but shows a softer side sometimes. Ethan is the hottest and most popular guy in school, whom Lizzie and Miranda chase after for years. Although he's good looking, he's a complete blockhead, and really dense.Lizzie usually gets herself in situations that are somewhat typical, but still tough to figure out. The situations sometimes are small, (a nerdy guy asking her out, not being good at any sport, being unpopular) but sometimes the situations are bigger, and much tougher (sneaking into an R-rated movie, buying your first bra, shoplifting, getting 11 pictures in the yearbook). Either way, I learned a lot from this show. Lizzie's parents give good advice, but its usually her best friend Gordo (who, by the way, was my first TV crush) who gives her the best advice.Everyone judges Disney for having cheesy shows, but this one isn't as cheesy as some of the more recent Disney shows (Cory in the House, Wizards, Suite Life on deck etc...). This is a good, wholesome family show. Lizzie Mcguire was a huge part of my childhood, seeing the Lizzie Mcguire Movie was a very exciting day for me. Sure, there are some insane plots, like when Lizzie dates Frankie Muniz (from Malcolm in the Middle), or when she kisses Aaron Carter and gets to be in his music video. But the rest of the episodes deal with real drama that comes up in every teenager's life. This show taught me a lot about life, and its funny. When I got into middle school, I actually saw myself dealing with a lot of the same problems Lizzie dealt with (first boyfriend, popularity issues, finding yourself). I thought that my life would be like Lizzie's when I got into middle school. I thought that I would have two close besties, a worst enemy, and a crush I could barely talk to. I had one of three things. My life was very different from Lizzie's in middle school, and that made me sad.Another reason I loved this show when I was little because I thought everyone else's' life was like Lizzie's. I thought that everyone had the perfect, upper-middle class family and everyone had the two besties. My family is the opposite of Lizzie's and is somewhat dysfunctional. It helped me escape, even if it was only for awhile. This show showed me what was normal in life, and it kept my childhood happy.I wish this show hadn't been canceled. Disney still plays crap like 'Suite Life' and 'Hannah Montana' when both of those shows suck. They should've kept this show going for awhile. It's a lot more realistic then Wizards undercover, a girl hiding as a popstar or kids living in a hotel or kids living in the white house. Real life, please. Some problems I have with 'Lizzie' are 1) The fact that Lizzie is sometimes superficial, and cares WAY too much about being popular 2) It has a lot of clichés in it 3) There are some episodes that are insane, and stuff that probably wouldn't happen to teens. (Most teens wouldn't get to kiss Aaron Carter or date Frankie Muniz)The best 'Lizzie' episodes are 'Lizzie's Eleven' 'Bye Bye Hillridge Junior High' 'First Kiss' "Grubby Gulch' 'Party Over Here' 'Come Fly With Me' 'Aaron Carter's coming to Town' and the one where Gordo and that one chick dance to Mozart. I recommend that all kids and preteens watch this show, because it's hilarious, and teaches you a lot about life. And the best part was the ending, when Gordo and Lizzie FINALLY get together :)

well i started to watch this show only after i felt the urge to watch it as there was no other pro-gramme and all the episodes of the other pro-gramme were been repeated from the starting. the story is about a girl named Lizzie who, on the verge of becoming a teenager, faces a loads of problems, like bickering with her best friends, fight for the sweet boy and other which any teenager.... wouldn't face at such a young age. Lizzie has two friends called Gordon and Miranda. Gordo secretly likes Lizzie though he only expresses it in the ending episodes of the second season. Lizzie has a brother called Matt who has a best friend called Lanny whom well... Matt can only understand. Lizzie's parents are Sam and Joe who solve some of her problems. Well the first season of Lizzie Mcguire was a bit boring with Lizzie looking horrible in her short hair, Gordo is always the silent boy and is a bit irritating sometimes when he stars bickering with the two friends. Miranda who too is Lizzie's best friend is very irritating as she keeps on fighting with Lizzie just because she supports someone else. Matt is the character whom i personally like though he is a bit childish. his friend Lanny keeps showing silly faces and becomes clumsy in his acting. Lizzie's parents are obnoxious who keep behaving stupidly, giving Lizzie advices and giving her tips about boys, that too at the young age of thirteen! I felt some of the episodes a bit stupid like the one in which Lizzie is assigned a project with Gordo to be husband and wife and her best friend Miranda is made partner with the love of their life Ethan Craft and Lizzie overhears Ethan talking to Lizzie's enemy Kate and Kate tells Ethan to leave Miranda on the day of the project and marry her and she would leave her partner, the stinky Larry Dutchman and the Lizzie starts telling Gordo about how Miranda would feel and goes on saying everything stupid. But the episode i hated the most was in which Lizzie's younger brother Matt goes to Lizzie's school by mistake and people think that he is a film star and what not. the second season was a bit better as Lizzie looked beautiful in it with her long hair and she looked like a good girl. She keeps on talking about Ethan and her marrying which boils my blood. but the worst thing about the second season are the plots which are so stupid that i would puke on them. let me give you some examples: in one episode there is a food fight in the school and Lizzie tries to get out of the lunch hall but when someone throws food at her she takes some food in her hand and tries to throw it at that person when the principal arrives and gives punishment only to Lizzie, Kate and Larry. But hello... wasn't the whole class involved in the fight so why should only three children get punishment. there are even other episodes in which the plots are horrible. i am giving it a 5 out of ten as each episodes as in each of the episodes, they teach you something. thank you for reading my comment.
