A very feeble attempt at affirmatie action
I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

View MoreI've just watched 15 minutes of this show and had to turn it off. It's the most disgusting, offensive portrayal of materialism I've ever seen. I can't believe that MTV thought it would be a good idea to endorse this crap to impressionable, young minds. In my 15 minutes of horror, I witnessed a 16 year old girl purchase a £25,000 watch, an equally expensive chain and a £10,000 ring, all because her friends expect her to be "dripping in diamonds" on her birthday. At a gourmet restaurant she told her friends that she didn't want losers, chavs or ugly people at her party and to make an entrance, (when it came to inviting her adoring friends), her father rented a helicopter for her, so she could fly into her Mansion. MTV portrayed this as something positive and special. I would be ashamed if that was my daughter. No wonder so many children are desperate to be rich and famous, and so many young girls want to marry footballers (as their career!!), rather get a degree and expand their minds. The ambitions of our young are going down the toilet and MTV is partly responsible for that. They produce more and more shows like The Hills, Lacuna (or something) Beach, Cribs and My Super Sweet 16 and all it does is glamorize greed and excess. It's poor programming and I can't believe that a channel I used to watch religiously and be inspired by, would sink this low 15 years later.
View MoreThis show is quite possibly the pits of hell for me. It follows spoilt, filthy rich, snobby and bratty 15 year old kids plan and execute their 'sweet 16' birthday party.Im physically sickened by the way some of these kids treat their parents. They have no respect, no manners and are genuinely awful people, they symbolise everything that is wrong with the world. Clearly the parents need to beat the crap out of these kids to knock some sense into them, i would if they were mine.It is awful programming, for the simple minded. People who enjoy this show must not have an education and they have to be the dumbest, thickest people on the planet. MTV today has brought some crap onto our screens like 'laguna beach,' 'the hills' and many others, but i think this is the icing on the cake...
View MoreI have to agree with giveitsomeblonde. This show is just terrible in every way. It's insane to think that we live in a world that tries to idolize stuck-up, snobby little brats like these. Even if the point is to show people just how obnoxious these kids are, they're still doing nothing but raising up their pedestal higher. The show contains nothing but 'teeny-drama'. Little kids screaming and cursing at their parents for booking Ciara instead of Janet Jackson. Yelling at directors to 'get to work'. Telling the 'ugly' people that they aren't allowed to come to their party. It's just disgusting. MTv has really let us all down by showing this atrocious children get their way.If you haven't watched it yet, save yourself some time. Every episode is the same, all these brats are the same.... Worthless. I would have certainly given it a 0 if I could have.-Touche'
View MoreThere really is something about this show that makes me tune into it whenever i can. Don't get me wrong, almost everyone on the show needs, not just deserves but NEEDS a severe beating..and if any child/friend/distant acquaintance of mine acted a fraction as churlish as the spoiled brats on this show then i'd think there was something seriously wrong with my life, let alone their's...but i digress. Despite all the comtempt that these little brats inspire, i LOVE seeing them make utter fools of themselves, and know in my heart 'well at least there's ONE person i'm better than'. It's reassuring in a weird way. What it really needs is some sarcastic commentary like MADE used to have dubbed over it (in the UK at least).
