    Nice effects though.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

I used to watch this show when I was growing up. First off, I must say that it was a fun game show. Also, I'm not sure if I've seen every episode. However, I do remember the show very well. Every time I watched it, I had a lot of fun watching. This made me long to be a contestant. If I had to pick a favorite event, it would be either Jump! Jump! or Basic Training. I hope the Nickelodeon Games and Sports Newtork keeps it on so I can keep watching. If that happens, I will be really happy. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever. Now, in conclusion, I hope that you catch this show one day before it goes off the air for good.

GUTS was without a doubt one of the most popular shows on Nickelodeon during the "first generation era" (1979-99). I love that show. In fact, in my opinion, this show beats out Double Dare and Legends of the Hidden Temple. The host, Mike O'Malley, was energetic and laid back in the first season, but he calmed down in the remaining seasons (but still energetic). Referee Moira Quirk was energetic and funny and had personality in the first three seasons. She would joke a lot during that time. The chemistry between Mike and Moira would be so inseparable that in the third season, that there would be a halftime show where they would recap the highlights from the first half. The games were fun to watch. I loved Moon Race (although it aired 3 episodes in the first season) and Slam Dunk. However, things went downhill with Global GUTS. It was okay and there's nothing wrong with the global competition, but the show lost a whole lot of spark. Mike O'Malley took his commentary way too seriously (as if he was on ESPN). He acts like he want the kids to win. As a matter of fact, he acts like a high school football (or basketball) coach. Moira would joke less often and her personality went out the window. The show was tweaked up too much. I guess that Nickelodeon wants to get serious with the show's direction. I clearly think that if GUTS didn't have global competition, then the show could have stayed on for one more year.Grades: GUTS A+ Global GUTS B-

I remember watching Guts on Nickelodeon when I was younger with my sister and brother. We always loved seeing the different physical challenges the contestants had to compete in. My favorite challenge were the "Vertiboggan" and "Boulder Canyon".Although this show only lasted for three seasons, I enjoyed every episode of it. I also enjoyed Global GUTS, the spin off series that had contestants from all around the world participating in it.I miss the days when Nickelodeon use to air good shows, like Guts, Double Dare, Rugrats(pre-Dil and Kimi), Rocko's Modern Life, Legends of the Hidden Temple, and many great shows. I give Guts 10/10 stars!

god this show rocked i think that all politics and major decisions should be solved by having the leaders of countries climb the aggro crag for who wins elections or wars. this could be used to decide who the next pope will be imagine, three elderly cardinals duking it out old-school super aggro-crap style, winner take all. instead of the radical rock, theyd just win the pope hat. if that is not enough, let the candidates compete in other awesome tests of strength and skill by facing off in other relevant challenges, like shooting baskets while attached to a bungie cord. i believe that this is a sensible solution that could potential end all world problems such as war, hatred, and violence.
