Olympus Audience Reviews

Lucybespro It is a performances centric movie
ScoobyMint Disappointment for a huge fan!
Leoni Haney Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
jdberner First please let me admit that i haven't seen the whole series; i couldn't finish the second episode. This series seemed to think that you could throw mythology and history (...and geography) out the window, inventing a story out of whole cloth, still use the historical and mythological names, and create something new, exciting, and interesting. It does not (and probably can not) work. If this series was populated by new characters, new places, and had no historical burden, i believe i could have watched it. As it is, it was simply impossible to get beyond the burden of suspending disbelief. The plot seemed to be inconsistent, and the dialogue appeared to be flawed...but i cannot say this for certain. This was a new tale, and it should have been told without borrowing and mis-using characters from history and mythology. One doesn't keep writing on a full blackboard; one erases the board to make room.
Calli Emrys Pendragon I was looking forward to this show because I enjoy shows based on Greek mythology ,although some of them are not even close to history but THIS? This show is by far the worst!! I was expecting much more from a channel like SyFy in production mostly! The acting is so horrible and the locations so far from ideal! I am surprised this production got 7/10!!! I give it a 2 /10 and believe me for being nice! I tried to watch but got so confused with the story and also quite mad because of the amateur people who were involved in this project! It is so sad really...In every show we love a characther or maybe more but here you hate them all!!!! It was one of the WORST fantasy shows I have ever seen and when I say the worst I meant it! I would not recommend it,it is a waist of time!!!!!
gil-galen if you like fantasy, if you are a fan of B movies, and if you enjoy mythical backdrops, then you may very well enjoy this show. Think Greek tragedy, think fairytale, and you will be on the right track. This is not a historical take on Greece, this is not a re telling of Greek legends as we know them, this is more like a play that wants to explore the human condition, faith, and the transition of humans leaving the mythic era and reaching for the next. The more negative reviews can cover the downsides of the production better than I, though I obviously don't judge it so harshly. The main characters are good, engaging, and can hook you. The secondary characters can definitely seem 2 dimensional, however. There were enough turns in the story that were unexpected that it kept my attention. I will try any scifi or fantasy, as I am always eager to find good material there. I will definitely stop watching any show or movie if I feel it is a waste of my time, though, and have done so many times even though I get enjoyment out of B material. So it was with some surprise that I found myself continuing to watch this show, and after three episodes I had to continue watching it each night until I could finish the season. If you like B scifi fantasy, you may like this too. Just remember, it's so bad it is actually good.
lmahesa Watching the pilot and the subsequent two episodes, I had my doubts. The CGI, particularly the background 'sets' of gigantic statues were preposterous... yet, I had an inkling and a hope. So, I waited.I have just finished watching episode 12 with one to go, and it would appear that my suspicions were correct. This is not the Greek mythology we all know. This is a SyFy, or SciFi, production. Those of you who have read Dan Simmons' "Olympos" know what I'm talking about - those who don't, read a synopsis of that book.Since the silly, semi-comedy pilot, the characters have grown and the acting has become more polished. I now find myself disliking 'Hero' - not because of his acting, but because of the character development. He's now an anti-hero, in my eyes.Give it a shot. Yes, it might get canceled, but it's looking like the ending will be fairly epic and won't be too much of a cliffhanger.
