Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

amchugh89 I have never seen a show like this one. First of all, it is a HS coming of age tail with some really charismatic young actors. I always like that genre, and this is well done - often funny, with typical teen intrigue/drama. A lot of the plot developments are pretty cliche, but the actors are good enough to really sell it. Occasionally they throw in some weird plot lines that kind of go nowhere. For a while I was kind of holding that against the show, but I think that it is done for effect and although it doesn't all come together in the end, it really does make for a very interesting finale. I don't know what the status is on a season 2, or if season 2 will be a continuation of the 1st, but def made for a memorable season 1

byft01 This series is amazing. The cast is beyond stellar with their portrayals. I don't know a lot about LA gangs or life in LA inner city. Just what I see on TV news, current affairs and shows. This one (On My Block) tempered the over dramatic with moments of humor and reality.I hope to see both the actors and the writers (and production crew) if not outright winning awards, getting nominations. Congrats to Netflix for purchasing it, Please bring season 2 quicker than you do with other shows. :)

The characters, the plot, the acting, the humour and the whole journey which this show took us around, the roller world subplots and the perfect couples getting together, to the plot twist at the very end, this show deserves all the perfect ratings and praise, as well as a second season.
