    Excellent, a Must See

I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

The series, One Tree Hill, is based on the eventful lives of several teenagers in Tree Hill, North Carolina. The high school basketball team, the Ravens, coached by Whitey Durham (Barry Corbin), is the pride and joy of the school and community. The talented players are two brothers, Nathan Scott (James Lafferty), the star, who was molded by his dad, Dan Scott (Paul Johansson), but neglected by his mother Deb Scott (Barbara Alyn Woods), an alcoholic. Lucas Scott (Chad Michael Murray) was abandoned at birth with his mother, Karen Roe (Moira Kelly), who grew up with Dan's older but poor brother Keith as a substitute father. Incident forces the coach to replace suspended players, and Lucas soon proves himself. After a while he gets accepted and develops a dynamic. Of course the teenage boys have friends, and especially a confusing series of love affairs with musical talent Peyton Sawyer (Hilarie Burton) and Haley James Scott (Bethany Joy Lenz), also a tutor, as well as Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) a popular cheerleader. When I watched the pilot of One Tree Hill, I knew I was going to be hooked. There were some episodes that were not as good as others, but overall the series was very enjoyable. The conflict that occurs throughout the series is the main reason I enjoyed the TV show. There was never a time where I got bored watching the series, because it was so believable and relevant to my life. Overall, the first impression was very good and I continued to watch the show until the very last episode. The story-line of the series One Tree Hill flowed well from start to finish. There was almost never a time where I did not want to continue to watch the series. The producers did a very nice job of keeping the viewers on their toes at all times. The show is based on high school conflicts, but the adults are aired on the show just as much as the teens. This allows the viewers to gain connection with all the characters, not just the teenagers. I felt that the characters filled their roles well. They were all believable teenage kids and adults. Brooke, Haley, and Peyton were all beautiful girls in the show, and they filled the role of high school girls very well. Also, Lucas and Nathan filled the role of two, high school, star athletes very well. The adults in the TV series add a lot of intelligence to the show. Dan Scott and Karen Roe both give a great performance of a struggling mother and a mean father. Coach Whitey does an excellent job filling the role of the high school basketball coach. Overall, the characters did an nice job of turning a fiction show into a believable real-world series. One Tree Hill could be viewed as one of the most underrated shows on television. Most people compare this show to a similar television show, the O.C. One Tree hill has some human like quality that makes the show seem relevant to many people's lives. Even though it does not have the fan base popularity that other teenage shows have, it still has a very loyal set of viewers. One Tree Hill is a great show for teenagers, as well as adults. I would recommend this show for high school students and adults; not middle school students. If you are looking for a show that deals with real-life issues, this is a great show to watch. Score: 9/10

Loved it very much, until season 8. Then it all went to hell!Season 8 was just farce over farce. Stupid characters over and over. Scenes of kissing couples, one after the other. Fillers galore. The writers seem to be absolutely floundering for story lines.Getting rid of Lucas in particular, was a huge mistake. He was the core actor and drop dead gorgeous, more so than any other. Peyton is also missed dreadfully. The whole season was just diabolical and I found myself fast forwarding through the trash and of that, there is an awful lot!My advice, watch till the end of season 7, then put away.

While I have to admit the first two seasons of One Tree Hill aren't all that great and at some point in the middle of the first season it'll leave you asking yourself, why am I still watching it? My advice is to power through because by the end of the show you're distraught over the fact that it is actually over. It takes a while for the story to form and build upon itself but all I know is once the show was over, I was left thinking that without a doubt in my mind this was the best show I have ever watched (and I've even watched Grey's Anatomy). Three words I have used to describe OTH are love, friendship, and drama and I mean what more could you really want from a show… The show starts off focusing on two battling brothers who are both very good basketball players but can't seem to get along because of the fact that their dad fathered one of the kids, Nathan and abandoned the other brother and his mom, Lucas. During the show more characters come in to make the show about more than just two brothers fighting about their dad and basketball. Each character goes through their own trials and tribulations and you get to see that play out in the series. One Tree Hill starts off set in a high school and is about a bunch of teenagers and issues involving their peers and their family. One of the things that I believe makes the show as good as it is was that once the kids graduated high school, it skipped showing college and went straight to right after they all have graduated. By completely skipping college it helped the series to avoid being repetitive and just showing the miniscule problems of a bunch of young kids. Throughout the rest of the show more characters come and go but it turns into now a show that still has family and relationship drama but, a series that shows a bunch of people figuring out their lives, where they belong, and what they belong doing. During the show, there are numerous life lessons many inspiring moments that happen that viewers can take away from the show. For anyone who watches this show, I promise it is worth the long hours (it's nine seasons) and when it's over it won't be just another series that you have watched but one that managed to teach you things and one you will most likely remember as one of your favorite shows.

I wanted to review this series before I was even close to finishing it. I watched every single episode in my bed yet I felt like I was one of the characters in Tree Hill. The plot, script, actors and settings were so perfectly put together. I could never imagine Chad Michael Murray acting the role that he did and I can't say I'm disappointed in the slightest as he did it so well. As always, he made every viewer squeal and fall in love but how could anyone say that they weren't charmed by the other Scott brother at any stage? Payton's character was very thought out and creative. Brooke was just like every other average teenage girl but wanting to be part of their group was something I thought about frequently. They always had a great time together. They had their ups and downs and I admired how much it resembled a real life friendship. A heap of the time I felt just like Payton and other times I felt like I had a bit of Brooke in my personality too. They were both lovely, caring girls. They'd fight, argue and bicker but if something went wrong the other was always there to help. It was disappointing to see Luke and Payton leave Tree Hill in one of the last seasons. They were a huge part of this series too me and it was saddening to watch the other characters live normally with out them. One Tree Hill has made a huge impact in my life, it moved me. It made me, happy, upset, frustrated, annoyed, angry, loving, caring. It made me feel a lot.
