Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
View MoreThis movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
View MoreStrong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
View MoreThis show is a great parody of 70's and 80's police movies and TV shows. They manage to include all the staples of the genre. The out of control detective with a gun that's way too big and a silly catch phrase(Trust me, I know what I'm doing), a hot female partner for him and the angry black captain who is always screaming. Plus, most episodes are actually direct parodies of old movies and TV shows.Watch it.
View MoreOne of the Funniest, most Original and underrated TV comedy series! One of my all time favorites! The combination of Alan Spencer (Creator), David Rasshe (Det. Sledge Hammer), Anne-Marie Martin (Det. Dori Doreau) and Harrison Page (Captain Trunk) creates the perfect team and creates the most Wacky, Insane but Thoughtful Comedy! This show more than deserved a much longer run than it was given! The pilot Episode is most certainly one of the most bizzar, funny and explosive Pilots that has ever graced celluloid! A true work of art! I would love nothing more than to see that same team come back together one last time and make Sledge Hammer! The Movie! The Show, and the many loyal fans, deserves that and it would also give the opportunity to close it off properly! Trust Me! I know what I'm Saying!
View MoreI think people are missing it here. Maybe you all are too young to know. But, this isn't so much a parody of Dirty Harry as it is a parody of all those Quinn Martin production cop shows of the 70's set in San Francisco. Listen to the theme music - it's a dead giveaway. Also the way they title each episode. The only thing missing is the "a Quinn Martin production." phrase at the end.I loved this show since it first aired. It is classic goofy escapism. It just makes me feel good watching it. Maybe it appeals to my inner machoism like all those Bronson movies but it is also so funny. The preposterous nature of it makes it totally work. I remember this series barely making it to a second season and I can understand why. It has a pretty narrow appeal but those who like it, just love it.By the way, I was surprised to stumble across all of season-one on DVD at my local library. I would like season-two but I don't want to be disappointed since I can't remember if they kept up the high level of silliness.Anyway, I am watching the episodes as we speak and I am glad so many others love this series too.Enjoy!
View MoreI grew up watching the slapstick comedy legends such as Chaplin,Lucy,Lewis,Three stooges,Marx Bros. etc...Sledge Hammer truly captured the slapstick of the past but with an EDGE(Dirty Harry meets Jerry Lewis)! This show was perfectly casted with brilliantly-stupid cop stories that no other show in T.V. history can even come close to!I hope the creator will finally release the Slege Hammer movie that's been rumored about. Apparently He does not want the movie to be made without David Rashe reprising his role as sledge, but various movie companies want a young actor to play sledge with a young/new cast!10 out of 10! "You, Yogart Sucking Mutant!" & "You, Egg Sucking Leech!"(pun intended!) THANK GOD BOTH SEASONS ARE ON DVD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
