I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Blistering performances.

Sure, it isn't Supernatural. But if you want more and some other point of views or a bit more back story...and if you like anime..then give it a shot.It isn't 60 fps like other animes though, it is what I would call 'choppy' and the use of black/white a lot of the time and not being actually 'noir' might turn some people off, I found that bit of animation kinda cool. The fact Sam is actually voiced by the real Sam makes it a bonus and the voice actor for Dean sounds pretty spot on is good enough for me.Don't expect to be blown away or anything but if you are a fan of SN and aren't going to judge harshly then definitely give this a try. If you like both than you will probably enjoy this show.

This little series was pretty good of course I like the original better.what I like most about it is that it shows more detail,it shows what the shape shifter looks like.A lot of the scenes get really bloody unlike the original series,defiantly more violent (in my opinion).the episodes we really short like 20 minutes long and they felt the need to play carry on my wayward son after every episode and after the song plays it shows like an end part to the episode now why couldn't they do that before playing the song?!?!but anyway I didn't like what they did with booby just watch and you will see what I'm saying and what they did to john I really didn't like.but it turned out to be a pretty good little animation series but the original is way better.I give it a 7 out of 8 I will defiantly buy another season.

I was really excited when I heard that there was going to be an animated version of Supernatural, but after watching the first episode I'm severely disappointed. Rather than presenting itself as a tie in animation that has new stories or fills in back stories with more information, the debut episode is merely a bad rehash of the 'Skinwalker' episode of the original. No back story is given, so I doubt the anime could act as a standalone series either. Maybe as I had the dub rather than subtitles, but the scripting was terrible. Exposition is handed to the audience with no attempt at acting or tying into the storyline. The animation isn't bad, but also nothing brilliant about it (the Impala doesn't look quite right) It was a nice touch getting Padalecki to voice Sam, but without Ackles it just doesn't work. It might have been a better move to simply have different voice actors for both characters, rather than have one brother sound 'right' and the other not quite spot on. Though I'll watch a few more episodes to see if there is improvement, based on the first installment, I'd not recommend it to anyone.

Now why would anyone that watched the original show ever watch an animated version? The story it's the same, the characters are not nearly as good as in the TV show and the drawings are lame.On the other side why would someone that has not seen the TV show watch the animated version if it doesn't offer anything new or better?Even if the episodes are shorter than the TV show's episodes the action actually seems to move more slowly, and it's boring.If you like the genre I strongly recommend watching the TV series, and then trying to watch the first episode of the animation just so you can see the BIG difference. I watched 2 episodes and it was enough for me. I'll most likely watch the show again than watching this crap!I wonder how they convinced Jared Padalecki to be Sam's voice...
