Excellent, a Must See

I love everything about this show! The action. The drama. The characters. The animation. The voice acting. Everything is just so good! 1- The action. I like super hero shows. I like action shows. How couldn't I love this show? The action is enjoyable, epic and it even has suspense sometimes making me wonder if the Titans will win.2-The drama. Some of the things the Titans will face are certainly interesting. I won't say much because spoilers, but I really like some of the drama and the scenarios the Titans will be in.3-The characters. Most of the characters were so likable in this show. They were well-developed, interesting, diverse. My favourites were probably Starfire and Raven.4-The animation. The animation is a lovely mix of Japanese and Western. While I'm not a huge fan on anime, the animation still appeals to me. And it doesn't look like a knockoff either.5-The voice acting. All the voices fit the characters in this. And the VAs all gave an excellent performance.Overall, I would Definitely recommend Teen Titans. Watch this show. Not Teen Titans Go.

Ever since I was 5 years old, I tuned in to Cartoon Network to watch Teen Titans. They captured my eye and my heart with their superpower beat-downs and teenage antics. Robin was a natural leader and great friend to all. Starfire was Robin's crush, generally a very bubbly girl, and an alien learning Earth's culture. Cyborg was a young man learning to cope with his robotic parts and the limits within, and a very good friend to Beast Boy. Beast Boy was a happy-go-lucky goof-ball who loved pranks, video games, and anything that was not meat due to his vegetarianism. Raven was Beast Boy's love interest and generally a very quiet, collected young girl who always kept to herself yet still socialized with her fellow Titans. This show follows the Titans as they battle evil menaces such as the Brotherhood of Evil, Trigon, Slade, the H.I.V.E., and Red X. This show focuses on many aspects and teaches very important lessons. One such episode, "Troq" has a new hero, Val-Yor recruiting the Titans for a battle with the menacing Locrix, an evil robotic race believing they were superior to all others, a more child-friendly, alien Nazis, if you will. Val-Tor calls Starfire a "Troq", a demeaning insult against the Tamaranean race that calls them "nothing". This show taught me that there are people who cannot or will not change. But it doesn't matter what they think about you. It's about what other, good people think about you that counts. Another lesson I learned is that you make your own fate. In the end of Season 4, Raven became a portal for the return of her demonic father, Trigon. But Raven returned to defeat Trigon, proving that you make your own fate, not others. The animation is a Western take on anime, or Japanese animation. It is a dark animation but has its colorful and cheerful moments. The characters are well developed and have good personalities. The action is excellent and nearly as good as DBZ, Justice League, Naruto, etc. The humor is genuinely funny and not like its dumber Teen Titans Go! counterpart. In conclusion, this is an amazing show and a thought provoking one indeed. This is great for all children young and old. This is a gem we must preserve for future generations.

It's hard to give a kids' show 10/10. Why? Because its generally made for kids; that's the logic. However, this show isn't just for kids, as I realized when it aired, just as I do now watching online. The show can get goofy at times revolving around the green character, but the rest can be just as serious as any other superhero show. Teen Titans is similar to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (No, not the original series, and DEFINITELY NOT like the 2012 version. The series that aired in 2003, ironically the same year Titans was made). Similar animation style, villains, fighting, more comedy, but no little romance. Titans doesn't throw the love in your face, but when it does, you feel the full force of it. These characters have little to hate about them, so its really hard to not want to see them together.Now to get to the main theme of this show; the action sequences. Titans is a cartoon and there are brief times when you are able to see the cartoonish style of attacks. It's not as drastic as Tom and Jerry where if a character got flattened, they'd continue to walk flat until springing back to normal. The use of cartoon fun is meant to add to the show, something that Batman and Green Lantern shows lack because they are deep and dark. Titans has both those aspects to it at times, but still doesn't lose sight of who the intended audience is; kids. And like I said before, the cartoon animations are only brief, and do not make you feel like you're watching something along the lines of Spongebob.With that said, I loved how much this show's softer moments relate to viewers. Batman= dark, drastic, hero. Iron Man= billionaire, genius. Teen titans= heroes who STILL have to struggle with their hormones and personalities as teenagers. Some of the issues that they face are topics that we discuss still to this day. And what gets me is how moving some of the dialogue exchanges during these scenes are. Soon after a few episodes a viewer is already growing on their characters.Let's not forget the caliber cast assembled to play these heroes. I'm very satisfied with the choices for each character on this show, especially the main ones. Tara Strong, Hynden Walch, and Greg Cipes always find their way into cartoons, and I was so glad to see them take on a show that is more susceptible to be eaten up by more keen critics. Ron Perlman and Ashley Johnson also have reputable resumes (Hellboy and The Last of Us, respectively). Many people might've gotten sick of Spongebob's voice, but it's much more difficult to hate on voice actors like these guys.I just wish this show was much longer than 65 episodes, because the series was and still is in a higher league. Such a shame though that this show was "revived" with Teen Titans Go, because that show is 50 notches under par compared to this show, even if it is for younger children.

Let me start by saying I am NOT an anime fan, not in the least. I have never watched an anime cartoon, EVER. That being said, I should have been turned off by this show from the very beginning just because of the anime influence. But I wasn't. 1. If you watch the show, there really isn't THAT much anime. It's an American show with Western-style animation occasionally throwing in some anime.2. Many people were complaining it isn't clear which incarnation of Robin this is, Tim Drake or Dick Grayson. I repeat, WATCH THE SHOW. There are plenty of anvil-sized hints throughout the show clearly indicating that this is Dick Grayson. (i.e, Robin mentioning he has a father then showing the camera panning up to bats flying away, a quick reference to Dick Grayson's 1940s "Boy Wonder" introduction, even the FREAKING Flying Graysons (Dick's late parents) are shown at one point.) You cannot get more in your face than this. 3. Humor. The humor is pretty darn good. At least I laughed quite a few times. It's very varied, ranging from self-referential to deadpan to snark. 4. Like any TV Show, there are hits and misses. There are really good episodes and there are weaker episodes.5. CHILDISH? It's a kid's show for crying out loud! Stop complaining. I swear, sit down and try to watch what is on nowadays. You will balk at what is considered "humor." Watch Sanjay and Craig for five minutes, I dare you. You will run away crying.Bottom line, this a pretty, pretty good show. I enjoy it very much. It's fun and I feel like it usually has the right mix of humor, action and occasionally drama. Most people who have been hating on this show watched the first episode and stopped. You can't determine the quality of a series just from watching ONE episode. Check it out, give it a chance. Don't knock it till you've tried it.
