What a beautiful movie!
n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.
View MorePretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
View MoreA film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."
View MoreThat's the question I keep asking myself. My favorite character is Uncle Ruckus. How in the hell did this get onto relatively mainstream television is completely beyond me. Today, this would have howls of twitter protests and nervous nancies screaming at the top of their lungs. Thank God there was a time when artists were allowed to take risks. This is a show that anyone with a brain should be able to relate to, you don't need to be black, I'm not. It is brilliant. It is up there with the Simpsons in animated comedy, not quite as good, but close. Highly recommended. Except if you're easily offended, then do everyone a favor and stay away. I'm someone that doesn't care much for vulgarity, unless it serves a purpose. It does here.
View MoreBoondocks rules, we can not even begin to praise Boondocks.Uncle Ruckus is brilliant, they took white racism and they made it okay to laugh at. Uncle Ruckus hangs out with black people, which comments on how all white racists have at least a few black friends. In one episode, Uncle Ruckus develops a friendship with a racist country singer. And the white gangster guys also have taken a subject which shouldn't be funny and made it so that it is.Rap music gets all beat up, not the music itself, because obviously, I mean the theme song of the show itself is a knowledge-rap. But the culture of rap is totally made fun of.The District Attorney is a wimpy light skinned black guy who has obsessive fears of going to jail and getting punked out.No one is spared at all from the satire, even Huey Freeman gets joked about, like when he couldn't carry out the revolution because granddad couldn't give him a ride. White liberals are ridiculed, white racists are ridiculed, ignorant black people are ridiculed, there is a white gangster who is the son of a rich banker who is a spoof of a college aged George Bush.Granddad is a sex obsessed old man, one of the best episodes is where a prostitute is taking advantage of him for money. The show even mocks the idea that only blacks can say the N word, in one show, where Riley pretends to be outraged that his white teacher called him the N-word, and Ann Coulter has a black boyfriend who she has to bail out from jail. There just isn't enough praise, and if anything sucked about the show I would say so.A lot of the episodes aren't making so much social commentary at all. There is one cool episode which is kind of a spoof of Shao Lin Soccer. There is hope for America, because not very many of the reviews were bad, those bad reviews I think were put up by the same Conservative activists who take a pledge to spend 30 minutes a day voting down liberal books on Amazon. I think probably a lot more haters wanted to write a bad review, but they probably made the mistake of watching a little bit of the show first and fell in love with it.Southpark isn't even very good compared to Boondocks AT ALL. Southpark has all kind of episodes that are totally flat and preachy, but Boondocks is always taking the high road of comedy. If Boondocks preaches, it does it in a way that you won't mind.
View MoreThis cartoon is good! This is for people who can stand humor, not one of those who cry after some stereotypes on Transformers 2 and saying, that a black robot dies first in the firs one.Racist jokes are funny, but in reality racism is not funny.Kinda like making fun of drug addiction, but it really isn't.So racist jokes are not the only things, that are made funny and in real life terrible.Well anyways lets get to the cartoon.Tells about Riley and Huey Freeman who move to live with their grandfather. It was a nice idea to pick John Witherspoon as the voice actor of Robet Freeman (or just call the character Granddad). Also the cast of other voice actors is good too.Its full of jokes from many sitcoms or comedy shows like Chappelle's Show.Huey is the smart one while Riley is the one who gets wild about everything that's 'cool'.
View MoreI've watched this a few times. And honestly, I don't' understand it. From my point of view, this show just screams racism. The "N" word is used so many times. Now maybe my opinion is that of a suburban white guy that has never, and will never understand what some black American's have had to go through. But really, all I see is a show that says that urban black's can not fit into white suburbia. It says that all black men are thugs, gangstas, and god only knows what else. Now, on the plus side. I do like the animation. It's very much a anime style. Clean, and smooth. A great deal of detail in every frame. But for the story lines...sorry...but I think I'm being very nice by giving it a 1.
