    not horrible nor great

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

I rarely notice anything on the old-guard networks, so I was completely unaware that this series even existed. After the unfortunate passing of Robin Williams I learned about The Crazy Ones and watched it.Robin Williams had a set of characters. These were him. Just like my grandfather, he could call up an appropriate character and bring it into perspective. I'm absolutely certain that every day on the set of The Crazy Ones involved a lot of laughing, a lot of fun, and a LOT of material that couldn't possibly be used on network television. What we got was a mediocre but entertaining show.Robin Williams as the 63 year old elder agency head is perfect because of these things, they are not faults. He's older, more mature, more experienced, definitely more jaded. The younger ones are learning at his knee, as it should be.As a requiem for Robin Williams' career, this series is a tragic and amazingly funny summary. They're all there. There's a bit of Mork, a bit of Mrs. Doubtfire, some Adrian Cronauer, you'll recognize the Genie, and the Indian Chief, and more. Yes, Robin's career was stale and he was essentially doing the same shtick as he was doing in the 70s. But it was good. He was fast. He was an amazingly funny man, filled with heart and care. We loved him for it. Maybe the younger generation will never get Robin, but anyone over 30 should have.If I had left behind the body of work that Robin Williams did, and that included this little unpolished gem, I'm certain I could have left this planet fulfilled. We will miss him.

I really like some of the movies that Robin Williams has done in the past and I was looking forward to this series with great anticipation. I actually hoped it would entertain me for 20 minutes on Thursday nights. However, I've been tricked and deceived by the hype and commercials and left disgusted. The show is not funny. The plots are horrible. The actors are sub-par. The scripts are typical liberal, homosexual, leftist Hollywood propaganda making a feeble attempt at changing our minds about morals by laughing at them. This has never been my idea of comedy, having been raised on black and white TV sitcoms of the 50's and 60's until the "rural purging" took place and ruined nighttime television forever. I have seen better comedy get canceled faster than this show, so the powers that be really like this venue. Tonights show of November 14, 2013 lasted about 5 minutes on my TV before I turned it off and wrote this diatribe. My hope is that this awful excuse for quality will flush down the nearest toilet and be gone soon. When will Hollywood get the idea that this doesn't work, it stinks.

Another show claiming to be based in Chicago. This show is not filmed in Chicago and it shows. There was a driving scene and nothing looked like Chicago.People from Chicago don't refer to it as Lake Michigan, it's "The Lake" It drives me nuts when shows do things like this. If you're going to make a show based in Chicago, make an effort. Heck film the show in the town, it will be so much more real and better.Look at Chicago Fire, CF screams Chicago. They did there homework, and they film there. Makes the show real and you get the feeling of the town.Aside from the horrible non-Chicago feel, the show is OK. Some of the jokes are funny. I really like Robin Williams and it's too bad he got caught up in this.If you're listening "The crazy one's" do a little homework and make the show real.

Comic legend Robin Williams has returned to network television in this unlikely sitcom. In this comedy, he plays head of a Chicago advertising agency and his daughter played by Sarah Michelle Gellar. Hamish Linklater plays Andrew Kenneally, one of the associates. Gellar isn't slaying vampires but she has to play the straight daughter role to Robin Williams' antics and comedic performance. Williams always seems to be performing and naturally like on stage. Hamish Linklater is handsome, wonderful, and memorable in his role and I loved him as Christine's younger brother on "The New Adventures of Old Christine." The show still has some things to work on like continuity and character development. Still with Robin Williams, it's hard to see him do wrong. Here, Williams' character is very much the respected veteran and the cast and crew all appear to be in good spirits and having a ball. Welcome back to television, Robin Williams, it's been a long time since your Mork and Mindy days but we'll be happy with you in any role especially comedy that is your gift.
