Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

2025

Editorial Review

Bad Guy

As a loyal reader of the book, I don't think the script was well adapted.

Of course, a small part of the reason is of course time constraints. However, it is not a good director to blame his incompetence on his age. Screenwriters are not good screenwriters.   The actors, art, special effects, and music are still high-end, but the screenwriters have sketched out what they should have been, and the details are slow and tedious.

for example:
& NBSP; 1. The earlier scene in which Harry peeked at the Malfoys from a cupboard in the shop did nothing to explain harry's point of view, nor did it create any tension.   The thrilling scene in the original, in which Malfoy reaches to open a cabinet and almost finds Harry hiding inside, is a complete drag. < BR >< BR >2. The final Armageddon is a series of failures. Dumbledore asks the Phoenix to bring Harry the House hat, and Voldemort sneers at it. In the original, Harry grabs his hat, puts it on his head, closes his eyes and prays for the hat to help him. Then something fell on his head: it was the Gryffindor sword, which led to the scene in which Harry used it to defeat the serpent.

In the movie, the hat was dropped to the floor by Harry, and when Harry glanced at it again a moment later, there was a sword inside. < BR >< BR > The gap between the two narratives is too wide. The original narrative is not only more fantasistic, but also emphasizes a strong bond of trust between Harry and Dumbledore. Harry is willing to believe that the broken hat Dumbledore gave him can save his life, and Dumbledore is convinced that Harry is worthy of the sword.

And, according to Dumbledore later, it was an even more legendary sword with a legendary pedigree from the founder of Gryffindor House. And only a true Gryffindor would be entitled to it. Voldemort sneered, "Is this what your beloved Dumbledore sent to protect you? A stupid bird? !"

In the original novel, phoenix cured Harry with tears in front of Voldemort when Harry was about to die after being poisoned by snake venom, and it was narrated from Harry's first point of view. It must have been that, just as Harry thought the world before him was becoming more and more blurred, everything began to fall into place again, and then he saw the phoenix resting its head on his arm, shedding tears. Voldemort, watching the scene, sneered, "You see, this stupid bird knows you're dying, too, and is crying for you."

In this regard, the two narratives are very different. Than the original show of phoenix cure in the presence of voldemort, harry to voldemort was dumbledore again frustrated, face to face and kicked the phoenix's move reflects the voldemort's violent < br > < br > there are many similar self-righteous failure, in the movie are exposed to the director and screenwriter is worried of narrative skills and the ability to lens scheduling. I believe that through these several examples, we can see the huge gap between the film and the original work.

Of course, other aspects of the film are still desirable.
