Good concept, poorly executed.

Dynamixor

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

With how many big names there are in this movie, I had much higher hopes for it!! I was SO bored that I turned it off in the first half hour. Why all these stars would even want to be in this movie is beyond me, and I wish they would stop casting Jenna in Channing movies! But it won't let me post it without adding more lines so do NOT waste your time on this movie!! Avoid at all costs. Don't get sucked in by all the stars like I did!

This was a surprisingly solid little film, giving a heartfelt take on growing up through a 10 year high school reunion. Some of the story lines are better than others and there's nothing super ground-breaking here, but ultimately a good movie that I found relatable. The entire thing takes place over one night with a fantastic ensemble cast. Lots of familiar (young) faces as we follow a group of friends who find that a decade later they haven't changed as much as they thought. Much drinking is done throughout as old flames are rekindled (Channing Tatum & Rosario Dawson), a bully (Chris Pratt) tries to make amends and regresses, rivals (Justin Long & Max Minghella) compete for the affections of a popular beauty and a musician longs for the crush who inspired his hit single.Chris Pratt kinda stole the show for me, he plays a sad, frustrating loser of a character, the type of guy we all know/knew and avoid while still somehow calling a friend. I enjoyed Channing Tatum and his reunion with high school love Rosario Dawson while he contemplates proposing to real life wife (Jenna Dewan-Tatum). Justin Long & Max Minghella provide a bit of comic relief that ultimately becomes bittersweet. The credits at the end are worth watching as they show the video shot over the course of the reunion. 8/9/15

One of my friends suggested me this movie and I've got to say, it made my school years rush back into memory as I was watching it. I personally think that movie is really underrated by users due to under popularity issues. If you are hoping to watch a movie with some of your old buddies (perhaps on a reunion), I'd totally recommend to you this movie. It'll be somewhat of a mellow one throughout but it will be enjoyable and it would certainly be able to bring back those high school memories. Even if it seems like too much information is stacked up into your brain so fast in the beginning, keep on watching till the end because all the pieces fit in nicely together to set up one of the most beautiful movies that you might stumble upon.P.S. The soundtracks are just placed beautifully!

Director/writer Jamie Linden gives us a big ensemble cast on their 10 year high school reunion.Jake (Channing Tatum) was the prom king. He is with his girlfriend Jess (Jenna Dewan-Tatum). But he encounters his old girlfriend Mary (Rosario Dawson) and they have issues to resolve.Cully (Chris Pratt) was a douche bully. He is still only a few drinks away from the same douche even though he is a married to his cheerleader girlfriend Sam (Ari Graynor) and a father.Marty (Justin Long) and A.J. (Max Minghella) are still trying to up one another, and they go head over heals for class hottie Anna (Lynn Collins).Reeves (Oscar Isaac) was a band geek, but is now a star with a hit song. He finally has a chance with his crush, the class ghost Elise (Kate Mara).Yeah, that's a lot of good actors and way too many characters. And that's not really all of them. Somebody needs to trim down the number of lead characters. The Big Chill had 8 leads, and that is probably the limit. This one had either 11 or 12 depending on how you count. The stories are fairly standard. It's got that profound idealism that you'd expect. Everybody has something big to do. If they lose 1 storyline, the rest could be expanded and have a little air to breathe. It's still a good watch.
