Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

Just so...so bad

A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

My last South Korean movie was 'My Sassy Girl' and it was pleasure some to watch it. Therefore, I went for 'A Millionaire's First Love'. The film grasps you in the beginning with some mild Asian action around an arrogant rich boy who cares less. He is legal heir to his late grandfather's fortune, who in turn has had kept some unturned dices in his kitty; his will.From here on, the film carries on in a small town near Seoul where it embarks on an emotional journey of the lead characters. There are few funny scenes that go well with the movie. At several stages the characters deal with their past, like in 'My Sassy Girl' but, which is not completely expressed in the words of the characters but revealed through their emotion, which is pretty nice and emotional. One has to understand it to make out the past relation.On the whole, this is a nice South Korean romance flick high on emotions. Go for it if you want a good time pass and emotional drama but only if you are not expecting much and any new. 6 out of 10.

I can only recommend this movie to those who like drama. The acting are good, the cast are perfect. Okay, I maybe a bit over the moon, but seriously the plot is great and unlike most drama, there is no unnecessary scene in this movie. I am a 40 years old male and usually into horror, yet I could not stop watching this movie and tried to comment here 3:30 in the morning.I was wishing that the ending could be different, but for the perfectness of the movie, it just has to end the way it is. This movie shows that great movie is about great plot, cast with chemistry and beautiful scene. A great movies does not necessary big budget Peter Jackson's CGI action. Wish people can make more movie like this.Warning: This is not another teenager love movie.

Jae-kyung had turned 18 and he is eligible to inherit his late grandfather's vast amount of fortunes. He went out with his friends and became arrogant in his ways.But, there was a catch in the will his grandfather left behind. He has to graduate from a small high school in the countryside because if that did not happened, he cannot totally inherit the entire fortune. Naturally it drove Jae-kyung mad. For someone who has quite an amount of money in his bank account, it was like a slap in the face.When he arrived at the place, he then realised how rural it was. The behaviour, mannerisms of the local people astounded him. There, he met the girl whom he actually once met many years ago when they were younger. It's his fellow classmate at his new school - Eun-hwan. He soon found out she had an illness which could not be cured. But Eun-hwan put on a brave face and pretended that nothing had happened and went on with her part-time job at the gas station and juggling with her studies at the same time. It was during those times Jae-kyung realises how much he likes her.It might be a sappy love story as the summary title has stated, but it's just a beautiful story which will move one who is watching it.

to be honest i watched this movie because Hyun Bin is good looking. Lee Yeon Hee looks like an anime character with that hair in a cute way. i had no high expectations. i just thought, "hmmm, a subbed movie. let's give it a try." i don't understand a word of Korean so English subs all the way! this movie was OK in the beginning, and maybe you knew what was gonna happen but it still made my eyes puffy from crying. i liked how they shot this scene where Hyun Bin remembers his mom bringing in clothes from the rain. and the part where he walks back home at night. it's funny to me. if you're a sucker for romance movies, watch this one :) and have a box of Kleenex.
