Very Cool!!!
Highly Overrated But Still Good
Best movie ever!
This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
View More'Superman/Batman: Public Enemies (2009)' is essentially a less nuanced version of 'Captain America: Civil War (2016)'. It presents an interesting premise but does mostly boil it down to its most barebones of beats, with more moments ending up in high-flying but appropriately weighty fisticuffs than in character development or other narrative-based thought. Still, there's consistent fun to be had and, though the characterisations are all fairly basic and unfaltering, the admittedly fairly generic story tries to be at the forefront of the piece at all times. There are only some sections in which that focus seems to have been slightly misplaced, moments in which the punch-ups overshadow the plot. Even then, however, there's always entertainment in seeing our heroes fight their C-list - and sometimes even D-list - foes (with a few more famous cameos thrown in for fun), even when it would better serve the narrative for a more subtle scene. Silly moments come and go, too, but can all but be forgotten in the wider context of the piece. In the end, this is enjoyable but pretty one-note stuff. 6/10
View MoreI remember watching this film and thinking of how awesome it was watching Superman fighting the Terminator no seriously that scene alone was awesome and the thing that they send a whole army to catch them was pretty funny since they both unleashed a Chuck Norris power and destroyed them all especially Bane who was defeated in around 3 seconds. I think Batman/ Superman Public Enemies is a pretty underrated film and for what it is for a DC Comics Animated Movie was pretty cool and i would definitely see this again or even get in on DVD because Batman Rules. At the end i thought this film was pretty good despite on what some people might thought.
View MoreJust finished watching it.I usually love DC animation movies. This one had a decent plot. With the right producing and directing they could have made a great movie with this plot... but the art style and animation are a big let-down. This really feels like something that was made back in the late 90s/early 2000s... I still have a hard time believing this was made in 2009. I look at "The Dark Knight Returns" films, which were made with the exact same budget, and the art/animation is vastly superior in those titles. Hardly even comparable.I generously give "Superman/Batman: Public Enemies" a 6/10. For the plot and because I'm a big DC fan. If you are looking for a visual feast, you will be disappointed.
View MoreThe sixth movie in DC's straight to DVD animated movies is possibly the most endearing...and the most frustrating.Based on a six issue comic story of the same name, it finds the world's two greatest heroes are turned into fugitives by Lex Luthor, now President of the United States, when Superman is framed for murder as a giant Kryptonite meteor plummets toward Earth. The duo have to fend off villains after the reward on Superman's head and heroes with orders to bring him in as they try to find way to stop the meteor and clear Supes.I'll get the "frustrating" parts out of the way. First, there's the length of the film. While the previous DC animated movies were 75 minutes or so, this one is only 67 minutes (less if you don't count the credits). The character designs are a little strange, with many of the men being really muscular with overly smooth faces (Captian Atom and Major Force look like ventriloquist dummies overdosed on steroids). The two main female characters fare even less well, with Amanda Waller bloated and downright grotesque and Powergirl sporting big anime style eyes that take up half her face and a "disproportioned" chest. But there's blame to go around since character designs are based on those of comic artist Ed McGuiness. And it caters a little too much to fans of the comics in the way a number of characters show up and get in on the action without even being called by name & don't even ask about back stories, which may confuse more casual viewers who are unfamiliar with DC Comics and its characters. Now for the "endearing" qualities. It may be short but it doesn't waste a second of its run time, giving us one awesome, kick ass action scene after another as our title heroes take on all comers (watching Superman and the power armor wearing Luthor go at it is quite a show), as well as how they deal with the meteor. The animation is very good, though the computer animation thrown in conflicts with the rest of the art. The dialog is lively and smart and the voice acting is top notch, with Superman, Batman and Luthor being voiced by the actors who played them wonderfully in several cartoon series (Tim Daily, Kevin Conroy and Clancy Brown, respectively). And there's something amusing about about hearing Allison Mack (Chole Sullivan from the TV show "Smallville") as Powergirl. And if you are a fan of the comics, you'll be amazed by all the characters that pop up.It has some annoying flaws, but with so much superhero action I'll recommend it wholeheartedly.
