Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

Good start, but then it gets ruined

I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

All the haters of this movie, asking for the reason why Hero Drinks and take his life, probably I have an answer for it which may not be satisfactory for most of you but it is the fact in the current generation. It is not mandatory that an individual with problems will go under depression and the individuals who have all the facilities in life will never go under depression. It is unfortunate still 50% of the populations in India are not aware of disease called Depression. When someone gets effected by this disease the consequences will be terrible and it might lead to Suicide or even worst (Tamil movie 3 is a classic example of it). If I am not wrong, in this movie the director try to portray the charterer of Aditya as described above. I really enjoyed the movie and songs. Thanks Mohit for your attempt. Unfortunately most of the love stories end is tragic.

Greetings to you all. Aashiqui 2 is a story of love about a former singing sensation, now 'an aimless and troubled alcoholic', when he bumps into a small time singer in a bar, Arohi Shikre. At that moment he finds a purpose in life, to turn her into a rising star. The movie has a decent plot. The chemistry in between the characters build well. But the weak direction, loopholes in the script and weak dialogues make this movie excruciatingly painful to watch. However, the songs are excellent. Rahul and Arohi are made for each other, which can be synced with the films successful soundtrack 'tum hi ho'.The lead actress delivers a good performance, whereas the lead actor looks mostly stone faced. He has delivered some emotional scenes excellently, but could not portray a drunken guy neatly, maybe the director did not use his skills right. On the whole, the countless flaws and weak direction make this movie just an average flick, otherwise a decent watch.

Nowdays Bhatts are only making sequels ever since Jannat 2, Murder 3.etc Aashiqui 2 is a sequel of their superhit Aashiqui 1990. The film is a different story compared to the original and the only relation is the name Rahul, it's based on music.etc The film has a decent storyline somewhat similar to ROCKSTAR and such films. The film may not be logical and believable but yet the romance is well handled and the twists and turns are well handled Some scenes are too melodramatic but yet they can be overlookedDirection Mohit Suri is good Music is superb, Most songs became famous, Hum Tere Bin, Hum Marr Jayenge, Sun Raha all songs are melidiousAditya Roy Kapoor has starred in 3-4 films before got an ideal launch in this film and he does well though at times he does go over the top in loud dramatic scenes but otherwise a good job Shardda Kapoor who starred earlier in TEEN PATTI and LUV KA THE END does a comeback and she is awesome in her role though her diction needs work Shaad Randhawa seen after a hiatus is back with Bhatt Camp and is good, Mahesh Thakur is decent rest are okay,Mahesh Bhatt makes a voice debut(his voice is heard on the phone)

My sister watched this movie first. And she told me to have a handkerchief before watching the movie. Reason: the movie is so emotional that she thought I won't be able to control my tears. It made me too excited and I watched it. While watching, I kept on thinking that my sister had lied because nothing such happen. But suddenly, in a scene where Aarohi talks to RJ's uncle saying that she was ready to leave everything to get into RJ's world (sharab ki duniya), I couldn't help myself. And I realized my sister was right to some extent. The performances by the new comers are great. Director has also done quite a good job. The movie is romantic. My friends say that it's too much romantic (Aarohi... Kuch nahi, bus yuhi) and they don't like the way the movie ended. But for me, despite some mistakes, everything's fine, the whole movie is nice. Background music and songs are awesome, gonna be favorites for everyone. I recommend don't listen to critics, you watch it.
