Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

After being exposed to toxic chemicals an alligator, residing in the sewage system of a nearby city, increases in size and begins to threaten the inhabitants who are unaware of its existence. To make matters worse one of the few people who becomes aware of this monster, "Detective David Hodges" (Joseph Bologna) cannot convince those in charge to take it seriously. He does, however, manage to get a couple of people to help most notably his wife, "Christine Hodges" (Dee Wallace) and a rookie cop named "Rich Harmon" (Woody Brown). Eventually, other important characters also become involved but their concerns aren't necessarily the same as his. At any rate, while the movie was okay for the most part I thought it happened to be missing one very important ingredient—suspense. As a result, while the actors performed well enough the overall impact of the movie was somewhat subdued and it never quite realized its full potential. What could have been a very good movie turned out to be slightly less than average. In short, I suppose it's worth a look for viewers who enjoy movies of this nature as long as they don't expect too much.

Vinnie Brown (Railsback) is the evil real estate developer who has dumped toxic chemicals into the sewer which has spawned another giant Alligator that promptly starts chewing up the town. Brown and the greedy Mayor (Bill Daily) obviously try to keep it quiet from the public, but the rogue police officer (Bologna) has other plans which involve blowing the whistle on the evil duo. This movie plays more like a remake of the 1981 original "Alligator" than a sequel. The plot is very familiar and nothing new is brought to the story. A respectable cast doesn't have much to work with here and mail in their performances. The monster alligator seems to change size from shot to shot and the look of it is rubbery and cheap. The gore is unimpressive, and this one has no black humor like the original did. This movie lacks punch in virtually all areas.

Few men go fishing and soon end up being killed by another Alligator. When they are reported missing from there family members. It's not long before that cop believe that, there is a Alligator in the lake. Most of the movies was really dull, as it take them forever to come with a plan,Sub plots in this movie were also boring as well, which also bring the movie down, drag on a little too long. The Alligator attacking scenes were really bsd, not as gory a first one. Some of the acting was a little over the top at times, some of the other cast were good but they could have put a lot more effort into there acting.4 out of 10

Alligator II: The Mutation is a pretty good follow up to the classic 1980 film Aliigator, the plot is very similar since it's a giant Alligator eating up the people who go near it while a detective tries to stop it. This time a small town has two problems, the Alligator and a Courrpt Business man that wants to take full control of the town while using the Mayor, Detective David Hodges (Joseph Bologna) discovers some bodies that looked like they was eaten by something big so with the help of his wife Christine Hodges (Dee Wallace) and his Partner they try to stop the Alligator. The Mayor sends a group of Alligator hunters lead by Hawk Hawkins (Richard Lynch) but after the Alligator eats most of his men he teams up with Hodges to kill the Alligator while the Mayor and the Business man hold a festival, he kills the Mayor for refusing to cooperate with him and soon the Alligator crashes the party. So Hodges and his companions try to confront the Alliagor again. This is a good sequel that's nice to watch on a night when there's nothing on. 10/10
