Who payed the critics
How sad is this?
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
View MoreThe biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.
View MoreThe first Ron Burgundy movie was a funny movie. The satire wasn't very biting or anything but it's just a ridiculous comedy about ridiculous characters. One of the movies where Will Ferrell is the lead but doesn't annoy or "get old" to me, and the supporting cast is really great. The dog scene made me cough up my soda. Not much more to it than that and the story is simple but it was definitely funny which is all that movie needed to be. This sequel is very disappointing though. The characters are there but they're not as fresh, not as funny, and get kind of annoying. The stories are just kind of stupid. Most of all it just is missing all the laughs it had in the first movie. And the new characters were really annoying to me. I love the actors in other movies but not in this one.
View MoreWith "Anchorman" reaching cult status, fans have been demanding a sequel. Now they got one...over a decade later. So was it worth it?Fans of the original will enjoy it, with all the first movie's jokes reused (including another epic, cameo-filled news team battle). The characters are still the same: Ron's a chauvinistic idiot (if anything, he's even dumber in the sequel), Brian's still obsessed with sex, Champ is a dumb racist with an unhealthy fascination for Ron and Brick as a delightfully dense as before (even turning up to his own funeral). Kristen Wiig starts as Brick's equally empty-headed girlfriend. They're a scarily perfect couple. The sequel sees the team tackle the burgeoning 24-hour news cycle, using car chases and animal puff pieces to get big ratings. While you don't expect "Anchorman" to make biting political commentary, it does foreshadow the sensationalism of 24-hour news and even mainstream new bulletins, with attention-grabbing 'news' instead of real stories. While it lacks the original's iconic and endlessly quotable jokes, "Anchorman 2" works as pure fan service, giving people more of what they want. The tagline could well be 'The Sequel You Wanted is Finally Here. Enjoy."
View Morei have to tell that this movie has more funny scenes and literally better than first part, they knew what to do with the every characters. i really loved watching this movie, i had tears while laughing so hard. steve carell was the best and i should say that they made use of him more than the first part... he got lot of scenes on to his pockets. Will Ferrell was one hell of man, he owns the spot light n he gives the best shot every time he steps in the camera.. baxter is epic as always.. when the climax hits with every country news channel with so many celebrities , i felt goosebumps all over my spine.. all together we must appreciate the director a lot because he made what we liked and i strongly recommend him to take 3rd part and i don't no , i think it should never end .. but please don't end any character in this movie.. everybody is a gem here. movie may b out of context in some portions but we can get so many messages through all the funny stuffs though, they make sense sometimes.. i didn't expect Meagan Good here.. that black word scene was out of box thinking. hope the series continues to excite us more n more.. love from India <3
View MoreAnchorman 2: The Legend Continues is Will Ferrell's 2013 return to the character that made him an official movie star in a sequel that provides nothing in the way of originality, realism, credibility, continuity, but still delivers laughs. This time around, we find our hero being fired from his network job while wife Veronica (Christina Applegate) is made sole anchor and within a year, is asked to be part of a new media concept called 24- hour news, which prompts Ron to reunite with his news team: Champ Kind (David Koechner), who is now running a chicken-fried bat fast food joint, Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) is now a kitten photographer and Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) has just risen from the dead (don't ask) and how they eventually rule Global News Network from the 2:00 am to 5:00 am slot.As mentioned, the film does deliver laughs but that's primarily because the laughs are laughs that we have been privy to before this movie. Ferrell and Adam McKay's screenplay borrows liberally from the first film, as well as other Ferrell films like Blades of Glory and Talladega Nights. I guess Ferrell and McKay thought they did enough tweaking to the original ideas that we wouldn't notice. There are some odd casting choices here, primarily Meagan Good, miscast as the young head of Global Network News and Dylan Baker as the slick GNN executive who recruits Burgundy, but Ferrell, Koechner, Carrell, and Rudd are still a well-oiled machine, though the character of Brick has been reduced to a level of retardation that is hard to swallow and his so-called romance with a female version of himself (Kristen Wiig) is a serious waste of screen time. James Marsden has some funny moments as GNN's lead anchor who has it out for our hero. And cameos by Tina Fey, Sacha Baron Cohen, Liam Neesom, Will Smith, Jim Carrey, Vince Vaughn, Marian Coitillard, and Amy Poehler don't help either. But despite the lack of originality here and the fact that the film really doesn't fit any of my criteria for a good sequel, I found myself laughing in spite of myself.
