View MoreA lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
View MoreWatching this picture in 2003 l didn't pay attention carefully as usually l do,but in this second look on DVD l found it really amuzing, all characters are dumb or at least unfortunate, this comedy is a sort of screwball, driven crazy every single multi colors and odds characters.all them has their fuuny moments although all mess it's a plenty of gags and jokes quote some famous previous movies,Sonnenfeld applying a smart non stoping speed since the beginning given us no chance to sleeping, just to consider the character Puggy was out of tune!!!ResumeFirst watch: 2003 / How many: 2 / Source: Cable TV-DVD / Rating: 7
View MoreAssorted Miami residents are caught up in a bungled assassination attempt and a black market sale of a nuclear weapon gone awry in this lively, fast-paced comedy from the team who co-wrote 'Intolerable Cruelty' with the Coen Brothers. Barry Sonnenfeld has the director's chair and the film has rightly been compared to his iconic 'Get Shorty' - an almost inescapable comparison to make given the crime theme, bubbly tone and equally star-studded cast including Dennis Farina an Rene Russo yet again. The film lacks a single protagonist as likable and charismatic as John Travolta in 'Get Shorty' and 'Big Trouble' is also nowhere near as funny, but it is frequently a laugh-out-loud experience with the hits far outnumbering the misses. The witty narration and quotable dialogue is probably the film's best asset. There is a hilarious part in which Farina references 'Die Hard'; he also gives a memorable lesson in restaurant etiquette, while Jack Kehler (as his partner) makes some amusing observations on mosquitoes. Whether the film has anything deep to offer is debatable; it is certainly far removed from 'Intolerable Cruelty' with its pointed parody of contemporary marriage and relationships. The movie is enjoyable though as yet another entry in the 'simple plans gone wrong' comedy subgenre. The way all the subplots overlap and link up is pretty clever with seemingly diverse characters all ultimately crossing paths with one another... including Andy Richter in an entertaining double role and Martha Stewart playing almost herself!
View Morei just love this movie, i laughed from the beginning till the end; i really don't understand why he made such a poor audience on the big screen! these Americans don't know to appreciate a good comedy! the cast was great, everyone of them; the script is good, the directing also; my favorite character was Dennis Farina's; as a matter of fact, i love Barry Sonnenfeld movies, in general, i really think that he is a great director and big trouble is one of the funniest comedy ever! i think that Zooey Deschanel was spot on and Tim Allen was very funny too; and the movie was also a very good start on their careers for Sofia Vergara and Ben Foster; LOVED IT!
View MoreEveryone says this is a laugh. You start out with a guy chatting about his life and then it switches to a voice over of a narrator. It has major stars or at least popular stars. This looks like it was 3/4 movies tossed in a bag and the you got this mess. The script is bad, the lines bad and things are just a mess and not explained. The lines are delivered w/o no emotions. This movie is so bad you jump from one thing to another and you just can't laugh you go what just happened.Don't waste your time with it.
