In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

I liked both District B13 and District 13: Ultimatum and watched this for David Belle but I had no idea that it was an American remake. While this isn't as good as the two previously mentioned films, it's still a good watch.David Belle outshines Paul Walker, who is pretty much playing the same role as he does in most of his movies – not that he does it badly! In one fight scene where Paul Walker is fighting three bad guys in the Brick Mansions, you can clearly see two of them standing off to the side (in what I'm assuming probably wasn't supposed to be seen) waiting until Paul and the other guy finish their fight before the join in.This movie also happens to have the typical douche-bag bad guy with the impeccable fashion sense with all the big, gold jewellery. An enjoyable watch, a movie you can turn your brain off and sit back and relax; worth at least one viewing, maybe more.

Brick Mansions is an action flick staring Paul Walker and David Belle. The movie revolves around and interesting premise being that and undercover cop and an excon pair up together to take down a crime lord. That being said this movie is a remake. There are many underwhelming aspects of this film and it really struggles to provide any substance for viewers. The acting is poor for the most part although Walker is decent as a cop. The fight sequences and the scripting is cringe worthy and it displays a prime example of the template of a mindless action movie. There is very few character development if not none throughout the film as most of its scenes are action oriented. The movie is set in a dystopia and showcases that theme effectively to an extent but you never feel as though you are getting a grand scope of the world it is set place in. For all I could tell there were just corrupt cops and rampant crime rates in the city of Brick Mansions. Overall poor film, would not recommend seeing it.3/10

District 13 is a great movie! This is a wannabe copy. I don't mind copying movies to reach a broader audience, but somehow this movie fails to capture the details that made the original movie great. The beginning scene where Belle escapes had less wow-factor than D13, and the music was way off. The scene was ruined. This is occurring throughout the movie. It might be the director, I won't point fingers, but D13 director also made Taken, the director of Brick Mansion made Taken 2, just saying. It should be mentioned that the acting is way off too. The main villain is good, the mains (Belle, Walker) are decent, but so many of the side characters horribly acted. Without exaggeration I have seen student films with way better acting. In short: Avoid at all cost if you can bear subtitles/know french ;)

Fast Paced Parkour and a Sleek Style are the Attraction in this Remake with Luc Besson's Team of Entertaining Filmmakers. Paul Walker's Last Film is a Fun Romp Full of Fantastic Acrobatics and a Neat Production Design. The Overall Enjoyment of this No-Brainer is Almost Ruined by RZA. He Cannot Enunciate and it is Truly Painful to Listen to Him Speak His Lines. It is Embarrassing and Along with His Non-Acting Presence it is a Modern Miracle that He Still Gets Roles Despite His Irritating Speaking Voice that has the Unpleasant Result in Making the Ears Bleed and the Mind Numb. But there is So Much to Enjoy, Including the Amazing David Belle, in this Non-Stop Chase it Can be Forgiven it's Completely Silly Ending and its PG-13 Rating. It is a Treat to Watch Despite RZA and the Final Scenes.
