The "monster" of the movie is pretty decent (even though "pretty" should not be taken literally). It's also nice to see Kane Hodder without Make-p and acting. And if you're aware of him you can guess what kind of will happen during the course of the movie (and yes that is kind of cool too). The problem is the same old story, boring characters, changes of attitude or mentality in a blink of an eye without explanation and further things that only happen in horror movies. Not to mention that almost every lead character is kind of despicable. Maybe that was planned, you never know where your sympathies are supposed to lie with some of these slasher movies. The effects are decent too for a low budget movie (also graphic at times). But nothing you actually need to see ...

I have watched hundreds of horror movies and I can tell you that this film is very predictable. When I finished watching this I felt as if it could have been much better than it actually was. The actors were fine if nothing else, annoying characters. I could not wait for donkey to die and when he did I predicted the penis being removed by the giant blade wielded by "charlie". Every single death was lovely and Gory.I do love the nod to Kane Hodders other character "Jason" from Of Friday The Thirteenth series. Is that you Jason..yup I approve of that. I even approve the seeming nod to House Of A Thousand Corpses. Giant knife wielding maniac son of "Otis" from The Devil's Rejects jumping on a car and shattering it while someone helpless can seem to only scream. The female characters were so freaking typical. Let us perpetuate the dumb blonde archetype by pandering to audiences. Tara Reid's performance was just fine. It was the constant barrage of the obvious oh this is stupid, oh I have a bad feeling, oh you are an asshole this is so stupid etc etc ad nauseum. My advice....try again because this was not my favorite film. Personally I have an urge to go back and watch Jason vs Freddy.

Mean yes, maybe a little but this movie had potential if it had an actress that could actually move when the action is happening. From her sad ass whimpering to her heroin addict looking legs it almost made watching every scene she was in more painful then the girl under the tractor. Really when she jumped off the cattle ramp i thought she was going to break both her legs and was that shot in slow motion because it looked realllly slow to me. besides her i thought this was a decent hill billy slasher, its no wrong turn mind you, but it is enjoyable. i would have given it a solid 5 but the addition of maybe i should invest in a tread climber brings the score down to 4.

I loved this movie! The mix of humour, horror, gore and the cast of characters was brilliant. To think that it was made on the Sunshine coast of Queensland employing a lot of local talent makes me feel so proud that such a world class film was shot where I live an hour away from! From the very beginning you're hooked. Literally. Some of the humour is a little corny, but as an Aussie, I find this very realistic to our nature. The characters were realistic and believable, and quintessentially Australian...apart from Tara of course. Takes me back to the days of the old horror movies, when the gore and special effects weren't generated by computer. Fantastic work Chris Sun, please keep it up. You have raised the bar on Aussie Horror. Kudos.
