What makes it different from others?

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

I saw this documentary at a local film festival with a packed house. I can honestly say it was the only film I saw here in which the audience was giving continuous feedback- through laughter, lots and lots of laughter. If you don't mind a pouring on of uncensored crassness in your life, then Dirty Country is gonna give it to you; give it to you straight up, from behind, sideways, and off the wall. Full of charming vulgarity, Larry Pierce, speaks to the hearts, minds, and well, other regions, through his endearing songs about all-that-is-raunch; verbalizing the thoughts many of us Americans have had at some point in our lives, just thought we would get shot if we said them out loud. There's definitely a few amazing "I can't believe he just said that" moments- and overall, a hilarious documentary that doesn't loose sight of the art of story telling.See it. Grab some friends- but probably not your kids or grandma- and a change of underwear. It will not disappoint.

I thought this movie was awesome. It should screen at every college in America. It makes me see the Midwest in a whole new way. I think Larry's mother says it all when she says, "We all think this stuff,Larry just says it." This film just puts it all out there, and it is ultimately a very inspirational film about sticking with your dreams, and finding out what the world brings your way. A great slice of Americana!Come to think of it, everyone should have at least 1 Larry CD for those late night after parties - kids in bed, and the neighborhood in your garage.I can now say I like some Country Music!!

If you like to laugh and either enjoy country music or enjoy making fun of country music, you will be moved by this film. And by saying "moved" I mean you will probably laugh your ass off. I saw this film at a film festival and really didn't know what to expect and it ended up being a great film going experience... One where you have know expectations and no idea what you're going to see and then you get totally sucked in and have a great time. It's tastefully vulgar and delightfully crass, in the best possible way. Apparently this guy has had a big Trucker fan base and I think he actually is talented, very funny and a perfect subject for a documentary film. My advice, see it, you will have fun. And, oh yeah, put the kids to bed first.

I've seen Larry Pierce live a few times and laughed my head off! This dude is DIRTY, so be forewarned. Choose your co-watchers carefully! I remember laughing, gasping and shaking my head as he sang his crazy songs. Of course, the best place to see and listen to Larry is at a bar with plenty of beer, but if you can't catch his show live, this DVD will do.The documentary sections of the DVD are funny as well. An interesting look into the background of a kind of cult hero. The film Nice guy too.Glad to see this DVD out.
