Yawn. Poorly Filmed Snooze Fest.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.

Drive In Massacre is the tale of a police investigation into a series of slayings taking place at a local Drive-In theater. Although this film may be billed as a horror film, I'd say this is more of a crime film, as about 3/4ths of the movie is focused on the police investigation. There are a couple of gory scenes, especially the first two killings, but the movie is rather tame overall. The two cops (played by John Goff and Bruce Kimball) stumble through the investigation to the point where you wonder whether or not these guys could catch a cold, much less a mass murderer. The main suspects are a pair of employees at the theater, the manager (Newton Naushaus), who hates, well everything, and a janitor named Germy (Douglas Gudbye), a dim former sword swallower who is pleasant enough, but seems a little off. With the possible exception of Gudbye, the acting in this film is either phoned-in, or in the case of Naushaus, way too over the top.The sound is horrible, as there are many points where you can't make out the dialog, and the soundtrack is subpar at best, as some of the songs sound as if it were composed with a Casio keyboard. There's a couple of scenes in this movie that have hardly any connection to the plot and seemed to be tacked on just to fill out the movie. The ending is different, at least, but I wouldn't say it was very good either.Overall, if you're a fan of 'So Bad It's Good' movies, then Drive-In Massacre could provide a few laughs. If you're a fan of horror movies, well I'd recommend you stay away from this one.

Typical drive-in fare. A movie to show that no one is going to watch as they are too busy making out.Bue, in this movie, which takes place in a drive-in, someone is running a sword through lovers engaged in passionate activities. It is a dark movie, well drive-ins don't operate during the day do they? The acting is atrocious, and it is just an excuse to show some blood. It's not worth your time, and there is nothing to recommend it.Three bloody murders and the rest of the film is two cops questioning witnesses and suspects.

There's somebody who is slashing to death a whole lot of the patrons of a particularly drive-in theater in the Los Angeles area where no doubt films like this are being shown. Before a couple of spoon sharp detectives solve this series of crimes a lot more couples get themselves hacked and slashed. In this no name cast with acting on the level of my junior high school dramatics, the two detectives discover that the land that the drive-in is on was once a carnival and the drive-in employees are all former carnys. You've got knife throwers, sword swallowers and some general all around hard cases working at this drive-in with the various implements ready and available.Drive In Massacre is the kind of film shown at drive ins so people who were there for something else could rest assured they were missing absolutely nothing of any redeeming artistic value

Right, what to say about the "Drive in Massacre". Well, lets start with bad acting, on which we can go to poor direction and from that we can jump right to terrible soundtrack and we can even lace the whole thing with poorly done script. And that's what I can say about the movie. This is one of those b-films which feel like they don't go anywhere, and this certainly something that is accurate about this one. There's some murders in the drive in, yet nothing is done with them even tough the film supposedly revolves around solving the case, yet it really didn't feel like it. And the film even managed to feel too long.So avoid, if you can. It really wasn't even funny in a purely bad way..
