Very well executed

View MoreThis movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
View MoreI really liked this movie. THOUGH, it is not a horror movie. I would categorize it more like a thriller or something like that. But like some of the others on here says, you keep changing your suspect and it ends up really surprisingly. I really liked this movie, and i think you should watch it! Do not listen to everybody saying - Oh this is bad, blah blah blah, because it is not. It is not a good horror movie because it is not that scary, but it makes you think, and i promise you, you will get surprised at moments! I do hope you will watch it, because it is worth it! You are not wasting you time, it is a good movie, i tell ya! Its a great movie!
View MoreSometimes you watch something in desperation. Sometimes on a friend's recommendation, figuring its worth a watch. It is! FEAR ISLAND is a movie that proves there are endless ways to meet your demise. A handful of friends, and a stowaway, head to a family cabin on a secluded island for a getaway of partying. Brothers Tyler(Kyle Schmid)and Kyle(Jacob Blair) had no idea their hospitality would be marred by the discovery of a dead body. Then when they try to go for help, their boat has disappeared from the dock. Now the story falls in line with so many other slasher flicks; everyone on the island are in startled fear of a mysterious killer. One by one the friends meet their deaths in various and imaginative manner. A lone survivor(Haylie Duff)tries to retell the gory chain of events to Detective Armory(Martin Cummins) and a therapist, Dr. Chalice(Ann Marie DeLuise). Personally my interest was in the stowaway, Megan(Lucy Hale). Now you have to figure out who the killer was and why. Wait for it, there is a twist of course. Filmed totally in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on a modest budget. Others in the cast: Jessica Harmon, Jim Thorburn and Brenda O'Brien.
View MoreThe police find an amnesic young woman alone in an island with a large knife covered in blood and her six friends murdered. Detective Armory (Martin Cummins) suspects that she kills her friends but the psychiatrist Dr. Jamie Chalice (Anne Marie DeLuise) tells him that she is in shock and need to be treated. Sooner she recalls her name, Jenna (Haylie Duff), and Detective Armory calls her parents that are in Cambodia. While they are traveling back home, Jenna tells what had happened to the group of friends. The former skeptic Detective Armory fells sorry for Jenna, but Dr. Chalice feels that her story has many inconsistencies and something might be wrong."Fear Island" is a boring film with lame story, screenplay, narrative and characters. The plot is absolutely predictable and dull; the screenplay is also terrible, with a tedious narrative; but the characters are the worst, most of them non likable with the exception of Dr. Chalice. Detective Armory, for example, is a cliché of a police detective. This plot could be a reasonable short but not a feature. My vote is three.Title (Brazil): "Pânico na Ilha" ("Panic in the Island")
View MoreFor anyone out there who can remember and recall with fondness the many exhilarating tales written by Enid Blyton about the famous five and their many exploits, such was my thinking when I sat down to watch this movie. My immediate thought was of course imagine if Enid had concocted The Famous Five Go Mad On Fear Island. alas such is not the case, but such is that feeling of familiarity that it never left me throughout this film's entire running time. The main headliner in the cast is of course Hayley Duff, and she acquits herself admirably throughout, although I did find myself extremely distracted by her dimpled chin! As for the rest of the cast they also carry themselves through the story with aplomb, decent acting is hard to find in movies of this nature. However that being said, my main concern was the film's narrative structure that really let itself down, I'm all for flashback in small doses, but dear lord, just when you find yourself settling into the story we get another flashback! I've never been one for spoilers, and you won't get any here, but if you find yourself watching this movie and your able to get to the ending, don't be surprised if you shake your head in disbelief and wonder why in hell the scriptwriter decided on a very familiar twist. In the name of fear!.....In the name of God!.....If you feel anyway inclined to watch a decent little whodunnit, skip this one and check out James Mangold's Identity, at least that movie can tell a decent story and definitely deliver a killer twist. This movie get 1 out of 10 and that's just for Hayley's dimpled chin.
