It is a performances centric movie
Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
View MoreI enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
View MoreActress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
View More" Hit and Run' was an interesting take on the hit and run problem in America. Especially how things go to hell when you don't call the police when you should. She should have reported it right off the bat and saved herself doing time, but then there'd be no fun of watching the killer come back from the dead (I think) and go after her. By the way, I wasn't sure if Emmsir was really dead or just in really bad zombie shape. I recently saw another film that had to do with a hit-and-run called Stuck, from a real case in TX. There is some similarity in the events, except in Stuck the man is stuck on the windshield. In Hit and run he's on the bumper. Also the girl in the Hit and Run is way more attractive and hot than the girl in the other flick. Other than they are two really different movies. Stuck is more art house, this is more heavy on the action and teen stuff.
View MoreMan I was watching this and I was thinking is that Kevin Corrigan from grounded for life?? Holy cow. He has the most gnarly teeth ever. That dental work was out of control dude. All yellow and jaggedly. That hit/run car crash really left him disfigured bad. He looks like one of the zombie guys who escaped from night of the living deads. Weird performance too. He keeps whispering incoherently and then raising his voice, with a savage kind of ferocity, totally into his role. I'd say, possessed like. I never seen Corrigan playing this kind of "villain" so that was bizarre. A 'departure' for him, no pun intended. Although his role is not that huge and you can barely tell it's him, this could be worth a look see esp if you're a Corrigan fan and want to see him in something different.
View MoreMgm's hit and run has some wild scenes and some more silly scenes. The garage scene where she clubs him on the fender was wacky. The part where he's stalking her in the house creeped me out. but the best when he ties her up with party lights on the car for the ride from hell. too bad it's in the last hour, i'd have loved to see more of that stuff. the parts that were not so hot were all the split screen action when they talk on the phone, just seemed a wee bit blah. i particularly liked when the teacher kills the big talking boyfriend Ricky who i wanted to strangle myself. also when he kills the wife, I was shocked and did not expect. if the mid 20 or 30 minutes was less dream-like, i think i would have liked this even more. also by the end, I wasn't sure who got beat up more, the bad guy or the jeep!
View MoreAfter I watched this it occurred to me that it could be everything after she buried the body was part of her delusion. I say that because the movie changed tone midway. At the start it was really kind of real and shown normal. Girl drives back from party. Girl finds dude on front of car. Girl beats him upside the head with golf club and buries him. Then after that the events become more and more ludicrous and out of hand, which made me think we were seeing it all from her hysterical delusions. I didn't mind that too much. Then I thought that it's even possible maybe the whole hit and run might not be real either and the whole thing was some kind of nightmare she'd entered, like "a Christmas Carol" or something and the freaky teacher back from the dead was like a ghost of Christmas Past teaching her a horrifying, nasty, never-to-forget lesson about why she's a naughty girl drinking and driving. After all, he did wrap her up in x-mas lights.
