This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
View MoreGreat story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
View MoreThe thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
View MoreClose shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
View MoreWhatever happened to the days when animation tried to engage kids, be intelligent and exciting and funny? Home on the Range came out when I was in elementary school and I still remember all the hype it was getting. At the Wal-Mart in Cape Breton, some lady gave my sister and I a magazine with a poster for it, she was handing them out to every kid going in there. Kids were always talking about it and wanted to buy toys of the characters.When the movie was released in Canada, kids saw it and stopped going on about it. They were all really disappointed, to say the least.I recently saw this movie and found it to be really overrated. The animation was cheap, the voice cast was incredibly annoying, the soundtrack was hokey and lame and there was nothing funny about the movie at all. It was also unnecessarily weird; one scene has an obese man singing about how he yodels to hypnotize cattle, and he starts talking about how his pants are sized XXXXL. What the hell? If this type of movie is what passes for entertainment these days, then it makes me proud to have cancelled my cable TV service.
View MoreNext year will mark the 10 year anniversary of Home on the Range.Last decade launched a row of human like talking animal movies and TV shows including Home on the Range and Father of the Pride.Home on the Range is a classic wild cart ride.Burly brawls, roller coaster rides and to a surprise a yodel song too.What's not to like?A cow lives on a farm in the middle of nowhere with her owner that does not want her farm to be sold.The cow and her animal friends goes out on a mission to save the farm.A big baddie wants to buy the farm.But the animals are stopping the villain after some wild chases.Recommended for kids that likes animal movies, also for parents that likes the old fashioned Bugs Bunny and Tom & Jerry chases.It's not any Leone masterpiece, but a colorful movie for a boring weekend.8/10
View MoreThis is another excellent Disney film. Classic animation leaving a real warmth to the characters and settings. Familiar storyline too of cattle rustlers and farm foreclosures and unlikely heroes rising up to save the day.We love the voices especially Roseanne as the brash, bold and over the top lead character. Cuba Gooding Jnr does a great job interjecting humour as a sidekick horse rivaling the role of Donkey by Eddie Murphy.The soundtrack is amazing too with leading Country starts leading their songwriting skills to memorable catchy tunes.It was surprising to read so many negative reviews and wonder how many of them are adults as opposed to kids whom Disney make these movies for in the first place.As a family we love this film and have watched it over a dozen times.Highly recommended.
View MoreThis didn't look or sound like a Disney cartoon you get very often, and that may be a good thing actually, but I still tried it none the less. Basically on a farm in Patch of Heaven, in the wild west time, an eviction notice is given to the owner, and she needs a lot of money to save it from the mean Alameda Slim (Randy Quaid) from buying it. Determined to save the farm from this disguised criminal is new arrival, cow Maggie (Roseanne Barr), along with the the other two cows Mrs. Caloway (Dame Judi Dench) and Grace (Jennifer Tilly). They travel across the many deserts and through one or two towns to find Slim and get the reward for his capture, but also wanting to catch him to please his "owner" is brave and fast minded horse Buck (Cuba Gooding Jr.). In the end, Buck realises the true nature of his "owner" and idol, and he joins the girls (cows) to catch the villain and save the farm. Also starring Carole Cook as Pearl Gesner, Richard Riehle as Sheriff Sam Brown, Charles Haid as Lucky Jack, Steve Buscemi as Wesley, Estelle Harris as Audrey the Chicken, Joe Flaherty as Jeb the Goat, Dennis Weaver as Abner and Patrick Warburton as Patrick. The voices might be good, and there are some small funny moments, but the animation could be better, and it is pretty predictable, not a great animated comedy western, but it's alright. Okay!
