A bit overrated, but still an amazing film

This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

I was rather disappointed that one of my favorite actresses Michel Pfeiffer had agreed to a movie like I Could Never Be Your Woman. The role lacks any depth: screaming, fake smiles, familiar solutions. Another faceless Hollywood production. The mother in the movie is an example of a modern mom: insecure, obsessed about her age and appearance. When it comes to her teenage daughter, the mom is very "understanding" (meaning "do what you like") instead of proper upbringing. The scene where she's being rude to a teacher made me so sad. That's our reality, unfortunately. Rude, ugly behaving parents and as a result the same behavior of the kids. Well, maybe this is where the movie succeeded. Should I have put three stars instead of two?

That is what i would have titled this movie. I could not bring myself to rent something that references "be your woman" It seemed so Tarzan/Jane like. But it came on cable and I settled down with not too high expectations.I was pleasantly surprised. First, the plot had much more to it than a May/December romance. The relationship between the mother, Pfieffer and her daughter, Roan, was equally important, and delightful. Enjoyed how much of the Mother's career was involved. And the anti-hero goofy charm of Rudd was fun. Lots of good lines and funny scenes. However, there was a lot of odd stuff that did not fit together. Though I enjoyed Lovitz role as the ex-husband/father, I could not imagine him married to MP. I love quirky Tracey Ullman, but her role as Mother Nature was awkward and just confused the theme of the movie. Was the motto that you can fight Mother Nature- while at the same time the movie mocked all our attempts to do so? In the end it seemed to glorify youth after all. The script gave little attention to the falling in love part of the romance between Pfeiffer and Rudd- what made him hit on her right out of the box? They always seemed a little awkward together to me. The best part was the role of the daughter. Ronan hit it right on the mark and was delightful. It is worth it just to hear her version of "Ironic" near the end of the movie.

Michelle Pfieffer plays, Rosie, a writer on a hip teen show called You Go Girl. She's the Hollywood cougar. Her pray is aspiring actor, Adam, whom she hires to play a guest spot on the show. He's also about 15 years younger than her. At first, she's not keen on going out with him, but decides she can try to get past the age issue. She's also raising a teen daughter, whom has her own boy problems. Rosie's secretary, Jeannie, decides to mess with her situation and tries to make Rosie think Adam is seeing Brianna, star of You Go Girl, behind her back. Soon her lies are discovered and Rosie and Adam have a happy ending.FINAL VERDICT: I didn't think it was funny. I thought it was very average and I can see why it wasn't in theaters. Plus Michelle Pfieffer's face, particular her chin, looks really weird. She may have had some of that bad plastic surgery they make fun of in the beginning of the film. I don't recommend this one.

This is one of the best romantic comedies i have seen lately. Taking in count that Pfeiffer was 47 when she did this movie, she really DOES have the body of a 29 year old (or maybe someone younger).Anyway, this is of one of the subjects that happens in real life every day. It is normal for an older man to fall for a younger gal, but what happens when the younger one is the man???MOthernature scenes were not that good anyway, I would definitely without a doubt be with someone like Pfeiffer's character in the movie...MIAM!
