The greatest movie ever made..!
Stylish but barely mediocre overall
Purely Joyful Movie!
just watch it!
The hoppy-skippy-jumper humper Jay (Imran Khan) manages to win the heart (with body, valleys, caves et.al) of Simran (Sonam Kapoor) by making her break off with a decent-suave-sophisticated-steady boyfriend Raj.Why would she do such a ridiculous thing? Because she was fun loving – her definition of fun probably included 'sleeping around' with anyone who caught her fancy. With Raj as her life partner, she would have had to sleep with him all her life – bearing him kids etc. but life with Raj would have been much more sexciting! Both would have got the marriage licence – thereby loitering freely and confidently among ordinary society people – plus both could have continued trying out new sex-partners without the fear of being answerable to the spouse. This type of marriage is called ' You are Okay, I am Okay – marriage' – where both hubby and wifey are okay with the fact that both of them will enjoy sex with anyone and no one will be answerable to the other. So why should we bother about them anyway? Children born to such couples hardly get any attention from their parents (since both parents are busy eff-ing around) , they grow up with domestic helpers...sometimes even get initiated into the world of sex pretty early in life – i.e. get sexually abused by the frustros around! Such children grow up and follow the paths of their parents – eff around anyone and everyone who catches their fancy. So how does it matter? Let them eff around! The 'anyone and everyone' that I am talking about could be children from decent families – where parents have really struggled hard to bring up and educate their children – such children suffer in the hands of the hoppy-skippy-humpers.
View MoreI did not only love this but this is actually my 4th favourite movie of all time. I don't understand the hate surrounding this movie. It is a typical bollywood Film with a love story which maybe typical but unique in its own way. The only reasons i can identify are those viewers are not used to bolly movies or they expected to see something else or whatever. Leave it. It is among my all time favourite movies not only because it had superb story dialogues acting and songs but also cause it carries with it some amazing memories of my life. Sonam is in a relationship with a typical nice guy Raj. But suddenly she meets the unpredictable and charismatic Jay who does not believe in love or love stories. Usually what a girl will do, Sonam falls head over hill in love with the unpredicabity and charisma of Jay . And Jay pretty much become shocked after hearing Sonam's love confession. The story goes on like this. It has many funny moments . The chemistry between Imran and Sonam is absolutely fantastic and i bet the people who liked this movie would love to see them starring together again. You'll simply love the songs and lyrics. The dialogues are too awesome. The end of the movie could have been done in a better way. I admit it was done a bit hastily and there were a bit flaws . The storywriter and director could have put some more thought into that part. But many great films has its own flaws and its an amazing movie. I recommend anyone to see the movie who is in love , was in love and who believe in love stories. Don't fall for the title I Hate Love Storys. Its actually an amazing Love Story .
View MoreI watched this movie, coz I knew it was partly shot in NZ, and the actors gave interviews when they came here to shoot.... I didn't have ANY expectations at all, as I had only seen Sonam in "Sawariya" and never seem Imran in anything! I agree to a point with some who say that the movie played on Clichés, but we have to realize that this is deliberate. The thing is.... this movie is trying to say the same thing those melodramas did, but with a lot less embellishments and in a more straightforward sense. It does not ALWAYS succeed in this, but it did not have any of the over dramatized love scenes or nauseating dialogue of some old movies. Instead, it tried to tell us that falling in love is ALWAYS somewhat dramatic, but try to break it down to a more believable level. Lets be honest... who here has not got drunk and called someone you liked? or made a fool of yourself falling for a co-worker etc? It's believable. The two characters had differing beliefs, but find common ground while working together and they start to rely on each others company without even realising it. Love creeps up on them and Simran being an incurable romantic accepts and understand this first, but Jay does not. It takes her extricating herself from his life, for him to realize how important she had become to him, and his journey to this realisation is painful for him. (We realize that his dislike of love and relationships does not just come from a superficial level, but from his parents failed relationship that contributes to his cynicism). As for the actors .Imran was a BABE, could not take my eyes off him.... and Sonam was sooo pretty. They lit up the screen; the chemistry was electric in some scenes. I disagree with those who say that it was not there? Where were you? They were hot, and never hotter than in those scenes in Queenstown! LOVED them! There was a natural, un-tried chemistry between them that was really enjoyable to watch. You can totally believe them just hanging out on a set, in bars and coffee shops.I found the character Kunal hilarious, he had the BEST lines in the movie and even Giselle was very funny! The perfect BF wearing the same colour ..? Maybe a bit overdone, but it was trying to make a point of how hard he was trying and how badly he was failing. Mr Wrong NEVER tries so hard, but this is what makes him so lovable. The music was good. My favourite songs being "Sadka Kiya", "Bin Tere",& "Jub Mila Tu".Favourite line in the movie . (After a drunken night out on the town with Jay) Simran: "That's it? Jay: "Aur Kya karna chati ho? (Tanslates- "what more to you want to do?")I give this movie chops for irreverent humour!I loved Imran and Sonam together in this movie. It was a great pairing. Good luck to you both!
View MoreI don't know why everybody is criticising this movie. This is all in all a typical bollywood romantic comedy. Story is very simple as all other bollywood romantic movies but this the speciality of this movie too. In it director is making a satire on romantic bollywood movies for same story line, plot etc. but in a different way. Cinematography of the movie is fantastic, music is good & catchy, some songs are really very good. Sonam Kapoor is looking very beautiful in the movie & sets are very good looking. Everybody acted well in it. You can really understand this movie if u r in relationship with someone. Even if u r not, u can enjoy it for its fun & entertaining part.............
