While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

This movie was absolute garbage. I wanted to like it, but just couldn't. I thought Killam was pretty good in SNL, however his directorial debut was horrible. With him in the lead roll was horrible. I cringed at every joke, and was in disbelief on how bad it truly was. I give this 2 stars for two people: Bobby Moynihan, and my boy Arnold. Moynihan is great in pretty much everything, and Arnold was one of the many things it needed, and he should've been in the movie more. I purchased this movie on sale before viewing it because I'd had high hopes. After viewing however, you can expect to see a used Blu Ray copy of Killing Gunther at my garage sale.

I felt like the movie would've been better if it wasn't found footage and just completely embraced the fast paced goofiness. I have only a few positives. I liked Arnold Schwarzenegger when he was in the film, he seemed like he was having a lot of fun here. But fair warning, he's barely in it. There was an element that I liked from one of the ending action scenes which was how the cameras were being knocked around but other that the action scene sucked along with the others. I did laugh at some moments, although some of that was because of how bad it was. Some of the visuals looked competent. That's it for positives. A lot of the comedy fell flat for me. Some of it honestly feels like they were trying too hard and comes off as awkward. The acting is bad and like the comedy, comes off as awkward. All the explosion effects looked awful.I would've been fine with the bad effects if the movie went fully goofy like The Naked Gun or Kung Pow where nothing makes sense. But for this movie it feels like no one cared. I felt the movie was a lot longer than an hour and a half because I didn't care about any of the characters and I kept wondering when Arnold Schwarzenegger was in the movie. The saddest thing about the movie is I do see potential in the concept. If only it had a better script, characters, acting and maybe a different film style or just went screw it and went completely absurd.

Know Arnie is Gunther going in, and knowing it is a clowning on everyone in the movie type movie makes it funny to me type movie. There are several LOL moments. I began watching it as a bunch of SNL skits made into a movie type movie. 2nd time through it was even funnier

There is a very important message hidden in this movie. That message comes near the end, about where The Terminator, SkyNet bless his iron heart, goes through the whole "yes, that was me too" sequence. That's when it hit me that this is a very true, contemporarily relevant social satire. Pity the sarcasm had to be so obvious, but then even fewer people would get it.
