Plot so thin, it passes unnoticed.

n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

I couldn't even finish this film because they used that shaky camera technique and it was making me dizzy and made the movie hard to follow. I don't know why filmmakers use that. It doesn't add to the artistic quality of the movie at all. In fact it messes it up. Please Directors out there, don't use the shaky camera technique!

I feel this film is overlooked. The opening sequence gives a quick overview of Saudi/American relations that explains more in 2 minutes than an entire course at Harvard. The acting is excellent. The action is excellent. This movie is awesome and Peter Berg should be in the top 10 list of directors. Everyone involved in this movie killed it. Great film definitely watch it.

"The kingdom" is one of those movies that fly a bit under the radar. While providing an illustrious cast, it never really reached the popularity of other comparable films. There are several aspects why this, in my opinion, is a mistake. First of all, it is a more than solid action movie. It is nicely made, holds the suspense high, while trying to add some politics and philosophy. Most of the actors play superb, including an astonishing performance given by Jamie Foxx. Secondly it avoids painting black and white, although at some points it is not far away.As usual, there are also some things I disliked. One is that again we have kind of an American team of superheroes, that just magically seems to survive and win every battle against dozens of villains in battle sequences that were a bit too long for my taste. The other is the character of the American ambassador, that just seemed a bit more like out of a comedy, a sector that is in general not a big strength of this movie, whenever it tries to be funny it gets questionable. What convinced me at the end was indeed the message. Killing people, no matter how inevitable it may seem, always produces hate. You can't eliminate terrorists without setting root to the next generation of war because you eliminate relatives, neighbors, friends, at the same time. I don't have a solution for this. But it makes you think. And that's always good for a movie.

Don't care about the story line, nor cast. Its okay if the producers can't afford a decent professional camera and have to use a hand held camera, but its not so okay when the producers entrust the movie to an incompetent over smart director. Who in turn feels empowered enough to do the same by employing a cinematographer suffering from Parkinson's disease. Surely, it was a fine gesture and a good example for 'Equal opportunities for the Disabled', but sadly at the price of viewer's headache. If you are hardcore and are not easily physically inconvenienced with cockeyedness or gut wrenching headaches, this movie is a must for you. Do enjoy!!!
