Waste of time
What a freaking movie. So many twists and turns. Absolutely intense from start to finish.
View MoreIn truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
View MoreI think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
View MoreThe show stops where it started. The horrible intro cartoon. Apparently they didn't have a budget to lead into the film gracefully or they took a time machine to 1962 or they needed the extra time to make the film go 90 minutes. Regardless, what a pile of crap. I've seem YouTube videos with more inspiring dialog, logic, and emotion. The entire film appears to have been filmed in a matter of days in a 1 block area. The thing they did was change the direction of the shots. I love how wounds changed shape, size, and location as the camera changed position. BTW a case of Monsters or the DT's and cameramen do not mix. perhaps the shaking camera was an homage to early Simpsons episodes. After all that we get an entertaining Matrix/Hidden Dragon moment in the Bar. It's as if they couldn't put enough crap in one film. Near the end of this travesty one can tell that Slater doesn't really care anymore and mails this bad boy in. His dialog is bad, his body just seems to not want to work in this turd of a film. One need only look at the Director of this flick, Tibor Takács to see why this is such a failure. Why he's directed such classics as Mansquito, Ice Spiders, Kraken: tentacles of the deep, and my personal favorite MEGASNAKE. How could he miss on this tripe with 2 actors that supposedly know how acting actually works? Maybe the cast just said screw it they've paid me, I cashed the check, and now I have to finish this, but I don't have to like it.
View MoreSpoiler? For something to be spoiled it must at one time be good, so there is no way to spoil this movie. For the love of all that is holy DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE!!! I do not write reviews-in fact, this is the first review I have ever written. I do so in hopes of making a contribution to humanity by imploring anyone to AVOID WATCHING THIS MOVIE AT ALL COST! You will notice I did not use my real name for my profile and that is because I am extremely embarrassed to have watched this movie and will never publicly admit that it I did. Have you ever watched a movie that was really bad and you were 15 minutes from the end and thought, "well, I've made it this far and might as well finish it?" Don't do it. It is not only acceptable but preferable to turn this movie off at any point, hopefully during the previews if you know what it good for you. I saw that someone else reviewed this movie and gave it 3 stars. They have utterly ruined their entire reputation. Their judgment will be forever questioned and they will most likely be admonished by their friends and families. That is too bad.
View MoreDear friends and lovers of cinema, when I completed watching this movie my only consolation was to look forward on its comments on IMDb. I guess I wasn't able to leave the cinema right after 15 minutes because I was somehow compelled to stay and be amazed by this constantly unfolding cinematic accident... I rushed home only to share my bad experience with other victims and thus finding some relief. Thank God IMDb exists! Thank you for your apt comments. To those few commentators who did not cry out in pain about it, I can only say: If you still hope to financially gain from the sales of this 'movie': nice try. If not: every further comment is futile. To end positively: The only good job amidst 'Lies & Illusions' was done in marketing this movie, i.e. the text on the cinema program and DVD cover. They've obviously managed to lure some unfortunate folks into spending money on this movie. - Has anybody ever read a comment of Slater or Gooding jr on this film?
View MoreThis is really a bad movie... Acting is just horrible and the plot is as stupid as it gets. Not one of the main characters is worth mentioning as the acting is bad from everyone. Don't need a spoiler alert here since you can pretty much guess how the plot will unfold from the getgo. Now the fight scenes are just plainly bad, like really bad... Who fights standing on tables?!? Really? And when you have a gun you don't move closer to your opponent so he can punch you and then drop the gun. Jesus! As for the camera work I got pretty dizzy at times. The lens they used give the movie a cheap feel like it is a low budget college movie. Really bad choice. Avoid at all costs. NOT even a rental. I wonder why people still waste money doing these movies.
