Love Is in the Air Trailers

Yann Kerbec is a flight instructor: he evaluates pilots’ abilities under extreme conditions on flight simulators. But Yann has a big problem: he is so airsick since he was born in a plane, that he couldn’t even follow the love of his life when she moved to Australia. Yann is now thirty years old and remembers with both nostalgia and humour the numerous love stories he spoiled because of his phobia. Will he finally accept to become a grown up or will he keep making plans in the air?

Wonderful character development!

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

Someone has put a wrong poster of the film by mistake. Can you please replace the poster with the real one. Here is a link to see how it looks like. www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ma-vie-en-lair/ The black-and-white poster has nothing to do with the movie. At first when I decided to watch 'Ma vie en l'air'' I did not have high expectations but then it turn out that the movie was far more interesting than I thought. The movie follows the story of Yann Kerbec, an instructor for an airline company who uses flight simulators to evaluate pilots' abilities to handle in extreme conditions. Ironically, Yann himself is afraid of flying. This becomes an issue when his girlfriend (considered to be the woman of his dreams) was offered an job in different country. Compared to most French romcoms this is joyful and entertaining, worth seeing. The film provides a pleasing romantic story. Vincent Elbaz and Gilles Lellouche, playing childhood friends, are a fantastic duo. Even though the script may seem to be rather predictable, I enjoyed every minute of the film. If you are looking for a pleasant and emotive story with down-to-earth characters, funny and true to life situations, something rather different than an ordinary American romcom (but also gripping), that is the film for you. It would be a shame not to mention how pretty stunning Marion Cotillard was as Alice. She was probably in her late 20s when the movie was shot, however, she looks even younger. And so beautiful! I really enjoyed watching her as Vincent Elbaz's lovebird. They make such a nice couple. Perhaps they were both rising stars of the French cinema at back then. The director Rémi Bezançon has an eye for the details. The senior pilot' s story was touching too. Well done!

This was a funny movie, compared to most of french comedies. It had an original script, a good rhythm, a narrator, a relatively good actor's direction, and despite its lightness, it was quite moving in the end. As usual with most of French films, the ending is not that elaborated. But in general I think it is worth seeing it for laughing a little bit and think about your own ghosts. The flight simulator was a good add-in, and gave the film a very original feature. Marion Cotillard's was good as well, although she was not very present in the film. It'd preferable to develop a bit more their relationship... Ludo's role is fantastic as well.
